Google Ads for ecommerce that measures profit, not just revenue
We build and manage Google Ads for ecommerce stores, combining Shopping, Search, Performance Max and remarketing around your margins, stock and delivery reality. It suits stores with a working checkout that want orders they can afford to fulfil.

- Reporting on orders, order value and returns where data allows
Selling products is a margin problem first
Ecommerce advertising fails most often through arithmetic. A store may show strong revenue from ads and still lose money after product cost, delivery, returns and payment fees.
Cash on delivery, common in Pakistan, adds failed deliveries and handling to that picture. We start by understanding which products earn their ad cost, and shape campaigns around those, not around what sells most.
Google gives ecommerce advertisers several routes: Shopping and Performance Max fed by a product feed, Search for brand and category terms, Demand Gen and Display for discovery, and remarketing for the people who nearly bought. Each has a role. Mixing them without a plan produces overlap and confusing reports.
We have managed more than $20M in ad spend, much of it for stores selling to the USA, UK, UAE and Pakistan. The approach is consistent: fix data first, protect profitable products, then expand.
Campaign types and their roles
We combine these in proportions that fit your catalogue, budget and stage.
Campaign type | Role | Best when |
|---|---|---|
Shopping or Performance Max | Show products to shoppers with purchase intent | Feed is clean and product images are strong |
Search | Capture brand and category searches | Distinct products or strong brand |
Dynamic remarketing | Bring back viewers and cart abandoners | Enough traffic to build audiences |
Display and Demand Gen | Introduce products to new audiences | Visual products with proven demand |
YouTube | Demonstrate products and build trust | Products that need explaining |

Metrics that matter for a store
We report these in this order of importance.
Contribution margin after ads
Revenue minus product cost, delivery, fees and ad spend. This is the only number that pays salaries.
Cost per order and order value
Two numbers that together describe efficiency, not just volume.
New versus returning customers
Ads that mainly capture existing customers flatter the account.
Product-level results
Which items sell, which only get clicks and which should be excluded.
Impression share and lost share
Whether growth is limited by budget, rank or feed approval.
Return and cancellation rate
Tracked from your store data, because platform reports do not know about refunds.

- Search campaignsBrand protection and category terms, with negatives to avoid overlap.
- RemarketingProduct-aware ads for viewers, cart abandoners and past buyers where permitted.

- Monthly commerce reportSpend, orders, revenue, product-level performance and recommendations.
Brand terms, new customers and honest attribution
A shopper who types your store name was probably coming anyway, so Shopping and Performance Max can look brilliant while mostly harvesting existing demand.
Where the platform supports it, we use new-customer settings and customer lists to push toward first-time buyers, and we compare ad-driven growth with overall store revenue to make sure the account is adding orders, not just claiming them.
We would rather keep a small, profitable account than manage a large one that mainly takes credit.
From store audit to profitable scale
A staged build keeps early spend modest and learning fast.
- Audit tracking and feedWe confirm purchases are counted once, values are correct and the product data meets Google's requirements.
- Define the targetWe agree a return target based on your margins and costs rather than a generic figure.
- Launch core campaignsPriority products go live in Shopping or Performance Max, with brand Search alongside.
- Prune and protectPoor products, weak search terms and wasteful placements are cut. Strong lines get more budget.
- Add remarketing and discoveryOnce data accumulates, remarketing and wider reach campaigns are added.
- Plan seasonal peaksSales events, Ramadan, Eid and year-end periods are scheduled in advance for budget, stock and feed readiness.
Platforms and tools
Most clients arrive with one of these. We work with all.
Shopify
Native Google channel and feed apps, with clean product data and variant handling.
WooCommerce
Feed plugins and GTM events, careful with caching and checkout customisations.
Magento and custom carts
Scheduled feeds and data layer work, usually with developer support.
Merchant Center
Product approvals, shipping and tax, and diagnostics.
Looker Studio
Product, channel and campaign views in one dashboard.
Cost drivers and what to expect
Our fee depends on catalogue size, number of markets and currencies, feed complexity and the number of campaign types.
Initial orders may arrive soon, but stable performance takes a learning period, and promotions and stock levels shift results constantly. We explain the pattern in monthly calls and avoid promising a return on ad spend in advance.
Situations where we would pause
A weak product page, no reviews and unclear returns policy will waste clicks, and sometimes ecommerce website development or conversion work should come first.
Newly launched brands with no history should be careful with Performance Max; Search ads versus Performance Max explains why.
Organic channels matter too; our ecommerce SEO services lower dependence on paid traffic over time.
Peak seasons and promotions
Click costs rise, conversion rates jump, and Smart Bidding can swing hard if it sees a sudden change in conversion rate.
We prepare for known peaks with feed updates, sale price schedules, adjusted targets and extra budget caps, and we warn you when the store itself is the constraint: stock gaps, slow dispatch or a checkout that cannot handle traffic.
For Pakistani stores, Ramadan, Eid, Independence Day sales and year-end promotions are major moments, and international stores have their own calendar.
We build a rough plan a few weeks before each, covering which products to push, which to hold back and how to read results fairly afterwards.
Reporting on orders, not only clicks
We reconcile Google Ads with your store admin each month, list gaps and treat the store data as the truth.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
Is Shopping better than Search for ecommerce?
They do different jobs. Shopping shows product images, prices and store names to shoppers ready to compare. Search captures category and brand queries with text ads. Most stores benefit from both. The lesson on Shopping ads explains the format.
Do I need Performance Max?
Not always. It works best with a clean feed, conversion history and enough budget. Many stores start with Shopping and Search, then add Performance Max once data exists.
Can you run ads for a Pakistani store selling in Pakistan?
Yes. We consider cash on delivery, WhatsApp orders, delivery coverage and local shopping patterns. Google Shopping availability varies by country, so we confirm what is supported before planning.
How do you handle returns and cancelled orders?
We reconcile ad-reported conversions against your store data, and where possible import adjustments so the account learns from real net orders.
What do you need from me to start?
Store access, Merchant Center and Google Ads access, margin information by product group and a sample of recent orders. Start through the contact page.
Does this include the feed work?
Basic feed optimisation is part of management. Account creation, suspensions and large feed rebuilds are scoped separately, as described in our Google Ads management overview.
