Flutter app development that gets two stores live without building the app twice
We build cross-platform mobile apps in Flutter and Dart that run on both Android and iOS from a single codebase. It suits startups, retailers and service businesses that need both stores, have a sensible budget and want one team accountable for the result.

One codebase, two stores, real trade-offs
Flutter is Google's toolkit for building mobile, web and desktop apps with a single codebase written in Dart. It draws its own interface rather than wrapping native widgets, which is why screens look and behave the same on both platforms and why animation is usually smooth.
For many products this is the right balance. A booking app, a catalogue and ordering app, a loyalty programme, a school parent portal or a marketplace can share almost all code between Android and iOS. You pay for one design system, one set of tests and one release rhythm, and bugs are fixed once.
The trade-off is real, though. Features that depend on newer platform APIs may need native bridging code. Very heavy graphics, advanced camera pipelines or deep operating system integration are sometimes better served by native Android and native iOS teams. We tell you which side of that line your project sits on, and our article on Flutter vs React Native vs native explains the thinking.
Products that suit Flutter
These are the project types where we regularly recommend it.
Startup first releases
Test an idea on both platforms without funding two builds. Many early products change direction, and shared code makes pivots cheaper.
Commerce and ordering
Catalogues, carts, wallets and order tracking are mostly forms, lists and API calls, which Flutter handles well. See also ecommerce mobile app development.
Service and booking apps
Appointments, on-demand jobs and customer accounts can share logic across both platforms. Compare on-demand service app development.
Internal business tools
Staff apps for inventory, sales visits or approvals, where consistent behaviour matters more than platform-specific polish.
Content and learning
Course players, quizzes and community feeds, closely related to e-learning app development.
Companion apps
A mobile partner to an existing web platform, using the same data through an API.

Transparent by default
A written scope and milestones before build, code and documentation handed over at the end and hosting or domain accounts kept in your name.
Local realities we design for
Many users have limited storage, so we keep download size down. Mobile data can be slow or interrupted, so screens cache what they can and fail politely.
Cash on delivery is still common in commerce, wallets such as JazzCash and Easypaisa matter to many customers, and WhatsApp is often where buyers prefer to talk.
Flutter handles text direction well, but fonts, spacing and mixed English and Urdu content must be tested on real screens.

Engagement deliverables in Flutter
Work is organised around outcomes you can review, not a vague promise of hours.
- Architecture decision recordA short document setting out state management, folder structure, navigation and how native modules will be handled.
- Design systemReusable components, typography and colours in Flutter, tuned to feel right on both Android and iOS where conventions differ.
- Feature buildScreens, business logic and API integration, delivered in sprints you can test on real phones.
- Native modules where neededPlatform channels written in Kotlin and Swift for features such as Bluetooth, background location or biometric prompts.
- Automated testsUnit, widget and integration tests on the flows that cost you money when they break.
- Both store releasesSigning, listings, privacy declarations, internal testing tracks and TestFlight, then production release.
- Crash and usage reportingFirebase Crashlytics and Analytics set up around your agreed measures.
- Handover packRepository, environment setup guide, API notes and a recorded onboarding session for your next developer.
A Flutter delivery sequence
The plan favours early feedback on real devices, since cross-platform bugs often appear only on one platform.
- Fit checkBefore quoting, we test your must-have features against Flutter's strengths and flag any that need native work.
- Design and clickable prototypeFlows are drawn once and adapted per platform only where conventions demand it.
- Foundation sprintProject setup, CI builds, authentication, navigation and API layer, so later sprints add features on a stable base.
- Feature sprintsShort cycles with builds sent to both Android and iPhone testers every one to two weeks.
- Device matrix testingOlder Android phones, small and large screens, iPhones and iPads, slow networks and permission denial cases.
- Release and supportStaged rollout on both stores, then a maintenance plan through app maintenance and support.
Performance, native modules and long-term upkeep
Flutter apps are compiled to native code and render with their own engine, so everyday screens such as lists, forms and maps run well on mid-range phones.
Problems usually come from our own choices, not the toolkit: oversized images, rebuilding too much of the screen on each change, or heavy work running on the main thread.
We also check whether a maintained package already does the job, and we read its issue tracker before depending on it, because abandoned packages are the most common source of upgrade pain.
An app left untouched for a long time becomes expensive to bring current, which is why many clients choose a light monthly plan under app maintenance and support.
Flutter compared with the alternatives
A quick decision aid. Your actual situation may tip any row.
Option | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
Flutter | Two stores, custom visual identity, fast iteration | Native bridging for deep device features |
React Native | Teams with JavaScript skills, web code reuse, see React Native app development | Dependence on third-party native libraries |
Native Android | Heaviest device use, Android-only audience | Separate build needed for iOS |
Native iOS | Apple-first audience, newest platform features | Separate build needed for Android |
Web app or PWA | Validating demand cheaply | Limited device access and store presence |
Scope, cost and where Flutter is the wrong choice
Sharing code reduces duplicated work, but it does not make an app free of platform testing, and any vendor who says so is selling you something. We quote after a fit check and explain each factor.
The market context is covered in what a mobile app costs in Pakistan.
Avoid it for apps that depend on a brand-new operating system feature on launch day, or where your in-house team already writes and maintains Swift and Kotlin. Also be cautious when your app is mostly a website in a shell.
For proof, we rely on method rather than slogans: shared test suites, builds reviewed on real devices, crash reports by platform and a written release log.
We have delivered 500+ websites and software products, and the discipline that keeps those maintainable applies directly to Flutter projects.
Mistakes we help you avoid
Patterns we see in cross-platform projects that went wrong elsewhere.
- Choosing by hypePick the toolkit that suits the app and the team that will maintain it, not the one trending this quarter.
- Ignoring one platformTesting mostly on one phone model and finding Android or iPhone issues after release.
- Too many packagesEach third-party dependency is a future upgrade task. Keep the list short and reviewed.
- No backend planA beautiful app with unclear APIs stalls. Settle data and authentication early with app backend and API development.
- Skipping store rulesBoth stores have requirements for privacy declarations, payments and account deletion. Check them in the design stage.
- Building every feature at onceShip a focused first version, learn from users, then expand.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
Is Flutter good enough for a production business app?
Yes, for the right kind of product. It is widely used for commerce, booking, fintech and content apps. We assess your specific features first and tell you if any need native code or a different approach.
Does Flutter save money compared with two native apps?
Usually, because design, logic and testing are shared. The saving is not half, since you still need platform testing, store setup and native bridges where required. We explain the difference in the proposal.
Will the app feel native on iPhone and Android?
It can feel very close. We follow platform conventions for navigation, dialogs and gestures where users expect them, and keep a consistent brand look elsewhere.
Can you add a web or desktop version later?
Flutter supports web and desktop targets, but they are separate products in terms of design and testing. For business sites we usually recommend a purpose-built web application. See web application development.
Who owns the Dart code and store accounts?
You do. We use your repository and add us as collaborators. Developer accounts for Google Play and Apple should be in your company name.
Can you take over an existing Flutter app?
Yes. We review code quality, dependencies and platform builds, then recommend fixes or a staged rebuild. Get in touch with the repository details and we will tell you what we see.
How do you test a Flutter app across so many devices?
We keep a device matrix of older and newer Android phones, small and large screens and several iPhones, then add automated tests for core flows. Cloud device farms can help for wider coverage, and we choose them when the product warrants it.
