Shopify maintenance & support so your store keeps selling while you sleep
Our shopify maintenance & support service looks after live Shopify stores: fixing bugs, updating themes and apps, watching speed and tracking, and making small changes on request. It suits merchants without in-house developers who cannot afford downtime during peak sales.
By Junaid Tariq · Reviewed October 2026
- Named team and a clear request channel, not a ticket black hole
- Preventive checks on speed, apps, tracking and checkout
- Monthly summary of work done and what we recommend next
Stores rarely break loudly
The expensive store problems are quiet ones. An app update stops the discount field working on mobile.
A tracking tag stops firing, and ad spend runs for weeks on broken data. A new banner adds heavy images, and pages crawl on mid-range phones. Nobody notices until sales dip.
Maintenance is the routine that catches this early. We review the store on a schedule, test the paths that earn revenue, keep themes and apps current where it is safe, and fix issues before customers report them. We also stay on hand for the unplanned small requests that busy teams cannot do themselves.
With 18+ years in web development and 500+ websites delivered, we know that most store failures trace back to unmanaged change: too many apps, no testing before release and nobody responsible. A support arrangement gives you a person who is.
This service suits owner-run stores, brands whose original developer has moved on, and marketing teams who want a technical partner on call.
Coverage in a support plan
Plans are tailored, but these are the building blocks.
- Bug fixesLayout problems, cart errors, broken forms and app conflicts, diagnosed and fixed in a duplicate theme first.
- Theme and app reviewRegular checks of installed apps, unused code and update notes, removing what no longer earns its place.
- Speed monitoringPeriodic checks on key pages, image weight and scripts, with deeper work through Shopify speed optimization when needed.
- Checkout and payment testingTest orders after changes and on a schedule, covering cards, cash on delivery and discount codes.
- Tracking healthGA4, pixel and Merchant Center events monitored for drops and errors.
- Content and small changesNew sections, banners, product data edits and landing page tweaks within agreed hours.
- Security hygieneStaff account review, access removal, app permission checks and backup of theme code.
- Monthly reportA short written summary of tasks, issues found and recommendations.

Support models compared
We describe the shapes, and quote each after the review.
Model | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
Pay as you go | Stable stores with occasional needs | No reserved capacity, so urgent work waits |
Monthly retainer | Stores that change often | Fixed commitment, but predictable response |
Project plus support | New builds and big releases | Pairs well with store setup or theme builds |
Priority cover for sales periods | Campaign and festive peaks | Needs planning ahead, not the week before |
Time zones and Pakistan delivery
Our team works from Gulberg III, Lahore, with working hours that overlap with the UAE, UK and the US east coast in the morning or evening.
For Pakistani merchants, we handle requests in English or Urdu, over email, calls or WhatsApp, and we understand local realities such as sale-day traffic and cash on delivery workflows.
We avoid promising round-the-clock cover unless it has been scoped and arranged, because honesty here protects you on the day you actually need help.
Cost factors and when you do not need a plan
Cost follows the number of apps and integrations, how customised the theme is, how often you change the store and how fast you need responses. A simple store running a standard theme needs less care than a store with custom code and several markets.
In that case, occasional help from theme customization or Liquid development may be enough.
If you outgrow standard Shopify, our team can also guide you towards headless development.
The checks that catch problems early
Each month we place test orders using the payment methods your customers use, including cash on delivery where relevant, and confirm that order emails and admin notifications arrive.
If orders in Shopify and purchases in GA4 drift apart, ad platforms are learning from poor data, and we trace the cause. We scan for new console errors, slow scripts and oversized images added by recent edits.
Every app should justify its monthly fee and its scripts. Where an app does a job the theme can do natively, we say so, which can reduce both clutter and spend.
Common issues we resolve
Problems that show up in many stores, whatever the theme.
App conflicts
Two apps editing the same cart or product element, leading to missing buttons or duplicate fees.
Broken tracking
Pixels that stop firing after a theme change, giving ad platforms bad data.
Slow pages
New banners, sliders or apps adding weight, found and trimmed.
Theme update fallout
Layout shifts after a theme version change, repaired on a copy before publishing.
Email and domain issues
Order emails landing in spam because sender authentication was never set up.
Stale content
Out-of-date policies, expired banners and sold-out items still promoted.
Before sales peaks and campaigns
We schedule a pre-peak review a few weeks ahead: checkout tests, speed checks on landing pages, inventory sync checks, and a freeze on risky changes.
A broken landing page during a campaign wastes the budget faster than almost any other fault, and planned cover costs far less than an emergency repair.
Reporting you can check
We cannot promise your store will never have problems, because platforms and apps change, but you will know the issue quickly and see how it was handled.

Where an incident occurs, we write a short note covering what happened, how long it lasted, what fixed it and what prevents a repeat. It builds a record you can show your own team or your accountant.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
What does Shopify maintenance include?
Typically bug fixes, app and theme reviews, speed and tracking checks, checkout testing and small content changes. The exact scope is agreed after a store health review so it matches how your store is built.
Does Shopify not maintain itself?
Shopify looks after the platform, servers and security of its core service. Your theme, apps, custom code, tracking and content are your responsibility, and that is what we maintain.
Can you take over a store built by someone else?
Yes. We start with an audit of the theme, apps and code, document what we find and fix urgent issues. If the code is in poor shape, we tell you what is worth keeping.
How fast do you respond to urgent issues?
Response expectations are set per plan and written down. For checkout failures during a sale we treat the request as urgent, but we only promise what we have arranged.
Will you update my apps and theme automatically?
We review updates first and apply them on a duplicate theme when changes could affect the storefront. Blindly auto-updating is how stores break, so we test before publishing.
Can support cover Google Ads and SEO tracking too?
We monitor that the tracking works. Campaign management is separate, and our Google Shopping ads management and Shopify SEO teams handle it.
