Chrome extension development that puts your tool inside the browser where work happens
We design, build and publish Chrome extensions: sidebar tools, page overlays, data capture, productivity helpers and companion apps for SaaS products. It suits companies whose staff or customers spend the day in a browser and need a faster way to do one repeated job.

Capabilities a browser extension adds
A website lives on its own page. An extension lives in the browser around every page.
That difference opens up a specific class of product. A recruiter can save a candidate profile from any site into the company ATS with one click. A support agent can see the customer's order history in a side panel while reading a ticket. A marketer can overlay SEO data on a search result page. A sales team can capture leads from directories into a CRM without copying and pasting.
Extensions also fit SaaS companies that want a lighter way into their product. A companion extension keeps your tool visible in the customer's daily workflow, and it can collect context that a web app never sees, such as the page the user is reading. Done well, it becomes the feature people open every morning.
Because extensions run inside someone else's browser, they carry more responsibility than a normal web app. Users grant permissions, and the Chrome Web Store reviews what you ask for. Our approach is to request the minimum access that works, explain it clearly in the listing and keep sensitive logic on your own servers.
Extension types we build
These are the patterns that come up repeatedly.
Side panel and popup tools
Compact interfaces that stay open while the user works, with search, notes and quick actions.
Page overlays and content scripts
Information or buttons added to specific websites, such as a dashboard widget on a partner portal.
Data capture and clipping
Select text, tables or profiles and send them to a CRM, spreadsheet or database.
Workflow automation
Autofill forms, repeat actions and reduce manual steps on internal web tools.
SaaS companion extensions
A lightweight client that talks to your product API. See API development and integration.
Internal company tools
Private extensions distributed to staff for custom workflows, without a public store listing.
Why trust this team with your build
For Chrome Extension Development, projects live or die on maintainability. Here is what stands behind the delivery.
Hands-on experience
500+ websites and web applications delivered over 18+ years for clients in 48 countries, the experience behind your Chrome Extension Development project.
Certified expertise
For Chrome Extension Development, engineering is planned together with SEO, speed and reporting, so what ships is findable, fast and measurable rather than just finished.
Recognised work
Led by Junaid Tariq, a National Level Award Winner in Digital Marketing who also builds WordPress plugins, CRMs and web applications. See the about page.
Transparent by default
A written scope and milestones before build, code and documentation handed over at the end and hosting or domain accounts kept in your name.
Security and trust for browser tools
We ask only for host access the feature needs, avoid broad all-sites permissions where a narrower pattern works, and never load remote code, which Manifest V3 restricts in any case.
We help you write a plain description of what data is collected and why, because an honest listing helps with review and with installs.
If the extension handles personal data from customers or employees, we recommend you confirm legal obligations in your market with a qualified adviser.

Deliverables you receive
A finished project is more than a folder of code.
- Requirements and permission planA written list of what the extension will do and the least access it needs, which also shapes the store listing.
- Manifest V3 extensionService worker, content scripts, popup or side panel and options page, built to Chrome's current extension platform.
- Secure API connectionSign-in through your own authentication, tokens handled safely and no keys embedded in the package.
- Cross-browser notesWhere practical, compatibility with other Chromium browsers such as Edge, and guidance for Firefox if needed.
- TestingManual and automated tests on target websites, since page changes can break content scripts.
- Store assets and submissionListing text, screenshots, privacy policy outline and help with the review process.
- Update and release processVersioned builds, staged rollout and a method for pushing fixes.
- DocumentationHow the extension works, how to build it and what to check when a target site changes.
Project path from idea to store listing
Extensions are small, which makes them quick to prototype and easy to over-build.
- Define the one jobWe write down the single task the extension must make faster, and what success looks like for the user.
- Check feasibilityWe inspect the target sites and APIs to confirm the data is reachable and that policies allow it.
- PrototypeA working rough version in a few days of effort lets you test the idea with real users early.
- Build the product versionInterface, background logic, API integration and settings are developed and tested.
- Security and policy reviewWe review permissions, data handling and the Chrome Web Store developer policies, which should be checked in their current form before submission.
- Publish and maintainSubmission to the store or private distribution, then updates when websites or Chrome change.
Technology and architecture
Extensions are web technology in a special wrapper.
Part | Technology | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
Manifest | Manifest V3 JSON | Declares permissions, scripts and pages |
Background logic | Service worker in JavaScript or TypeScript | Handles events, alarms and messaging |
Page integration | Content scripts | Reads or changes a website's page |
Interface | React, Vue or plain HTML and CSS | Popup, side panel and options |
Storage | Chrome storage APIs | Settings and small amounts of data |
Backend | Laravel, Node or your existing API | Accounts, data and heavy processing |
Quote factors and timeline
The main factors are the number of websites the extension must work on, because every target site needs its own testing and maintenance; whether you need user accounts and a backend; how polished the interface must be; whether it must run on more than one browser; and how much review support you want for the store.
A public extension with sign-in, payments and many supported sites is a product with a roadmap.
Our plugin development services page explains how we scope work across the plugin family.
Cases where an extension is the wrong tool
Extensions add install friction and review cycles.
If your tool must scrape websites you do not control at scale, you may be breaking their terms, and we will not build anything that violates a platform's rules or user privacy.
If the audience mostly uses phones, an extension reaches few of them, and a mobile-friendly web tool or app may serve better.
Extensions that depend on a third-party page structure are fragile: when that site changes its layout, your content script may stop working. Plan for maintenance or choose features that rely on stable data.
For WordPress-side needs, the nearer fit is plugin customization or Gutenberg block development.
Proof by method: privacy and reliability checks
What we control is quality and clarity.
We test on the target sites after each build, record how the extension behaves when the network fails and make sure user data is sent only where it needs to go.
Our team has delivered web software for 18+ years, and the same engineering habits apply: version control, code review, staged releases and logs.
If your extension needs an account system and database, our Laravel development services team can build the backend, and you can contact us to discuss your idea.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
Do I need a company to publish a Chrome extension?
No. A developer account is enough for the Chrome Web Store, and fees and requirements are set by Google, so check the current terms. We can publish under your account so you own the listing.
How long does review take?
It varies and is outside our control. Simple extensions with narrow permissions are generally reviewed faster than those asking for broad access. We prepare the submission carefully to reduce the chance of rejection.
Will it work in Edge, Brave and Firefox?
Chromium browsers such as Edge and Brave usually run Chrome extensions with little change. Firefox uses a similar but not identical model, so we scope it separately if you need it.
Can the extension work on LinkedIn, Facebook or other platforms?
Technically it can interact with pages, but many platforms restrict automation and scraping in their terms. We build only features that comply with platform rules and applicable law, and we will tell you plainly if an idea does not.
Who maintains the extension after launch?
You can maintain it in-house, or we can provide support. Chrome updates and changes on target sites mean extensions need periodic attention, so we recommend some ongoing arrangement.
Can you turn our web app into an extension?
Often a focused slice of it, yes. Extensions work best as a light companion to a full application rather than a copy of it. We help identify which features belong in the browser.
