Shipping & courier plugin development that connects your store to the parcel
We build custom shipping and courier plugins that calculate rates, book consignments, print labels and push tracking back to your customers, mainly for WooCommerce and custom stores. It suits sellers who now copy orders into courier portals by hand, or whose courier is not covered by an existing plugin.

- Rates, booking, labels and tracking inside the order screen
- Cash on delivery amounts and returns reconciled against orders
- Built to WooCommerce standards, including High-Performance Order Storage
Fulfilment is where store margin leaks
Most small stores begin fulfilment the same way. An order arrives, someone opens the courier portal, types the name, address, phone number and cash on delivery amount, copies the consignment number back into the order and sends a tracking message.
It works for ten orders a day. At a hundred it creates mistyped phone numbers, wrong amounts, missed updates and an accountant who cannot match payments to parcels.
A shipping and courier plugin removes that retyping. The plugin reads the order, chooses a service, requests the booking through the courier's API, stores the consignment number, fetches the label and updates the customer when the status changes. Staff keep working inside the order screen they already know, and the data stays consistent from checkout to the cash coming back.
Pakistan adds its own requirements. Cash on delivery is a large share of orders for many stores, addresses are often informal, couriers each have their own city and area lists, and refused parcels cost real money. We design for those realities, and for international sellers who need rate shopping across carriers, customs data and delivery estimates. Shipping & courier plugin development done properly is mostly careful handling of exceptions.

Build plan from courier account to live shipments
Most delays come from credentials and test access, so we start there.
- Process and account reviewWe map how orders are packed and booked today, collect API documentation and confirm sandbox access with each courier.
- Data and rules designWe define address fields, city matching, weight rules, COD handling and the order statuses that will trigger actions.
- Build the core pluginSettings, rate calculation and booking are built first, then labels, tracking and reports.
- Test with real scenariosWe run edge cases: wrong city names, split shipments, partial refunds, refused deliveries and API downtime.
- Pilot on live ordersA limited run with your packing staff exposes practical problems before full use.
- Launch and supportDocumentation, short staff training and monitoring through the first weeks of live parcels.
Edge cases that decide whether a plugin is useful
The plugin earns its fee on everything else.
Addresses typed in Roman Urdu, a city the courier spells differently, a phone number with a missing digit, an order edited after booking, a parcel split across two shipments, an API that times out at peak hour.
We write explicit handling for each, usually a clear message to staff and a safe retry, so a problem is visible rather than silently lost.
The packing desk needs a fast, bulk-friendly screen, the customer service team needs to find a consignment by phone number, and the owner needs a daily summary.
Small touches such as a notes field, a status filter for parcels without updates and a reminder for orders stuck in transit save more time than extra features.
Courier count, volume and other quote factors
We quote after reading the courier documentation. These factors do most of the moving.
Number of couriers
Each courier has its own API behaviour, so scope grows with every integration.
API quality
Well-documented REST APIs are quick. Weak documentation or manual portals need extra investigation.
Order volume
High volume needs queues, bulk actions and careful rate limit handling.
COD reporting depth
Simple status tracking is easy. Full settlement reconciliation takes more design.
Store setup
Multi-vendor, multi-warehouse or heavily customised checkouts add complexity.
International shipping
Customs fields, duties and carrier rate shopping widen the build.
Cases for an off-the-shelf plugin instead
We tell clients to test it first.
Custom work earns its place when you use several couriers with different rules, need COD reconciliation tied to your accounting, run an unusual warehouse process or find that existing plugins keep breaking after updates.
A middle route is small changes to an existing plugin, which our plugin customization services handle without a full rebuild.
Read our notes on plugin security to see how we handle credentials and updates.
Proof by method: showing that parcels and cash match
What the plugin provides is evidence. Every booking logs the request and response, so a disputed consignment can be traced in seconds.
Reports list orders by courier and status, the COD amount expected and the amount settled, and any difference flagged for follow-up.
Before launch we test against courier sandboxes and a batch of real past orders, and we keep a regression checklist for later releases.
For stores that also need payment work, see custom payment gateway plugins for Pakistani stores.
Larger custom stores can combine this with Laravel ecommerce development, and the full range is on our plugin development services page.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
Which couriers can you integrate?
Any courier that offers an API or a structured booking method, including the main Pakistani companies and international carriers. Access depends on your account, so we ask for documentation and sandbox credentials before confirming scope.
Can the plugin handle cash on delivery and returns?
Yes. It records the expected amount per consignment, tracks refusals and returns, and compares them with settlement reports where the courier provides them. The depth of reconciliation is agreed in scope.
Will it work with the new WooCommerce checkout and order storage?
We build to current WooCommerce standards, including High-Performance Order Storage and the block-based checkout where relevant. Because platform details change, we test against your exact versions before release.
What if the courier changes its API?
It happens. We log every call, so failures are easy to diagnose, and we offer maintenance that covers adapting to API changes. Without maintenance, you would need to commission fixes when a courier updates.
Can we use WhatsApp or SMS for tracking updates?
Yes, through an approved provider. Messaging providers have their own template and consent rules, which you must follow. We connect the trigger and leave the policy choices to you.
Do you build for stores that are not on WooCommerce?
Yes. For custom stores we build the same logic inside the application, for example in Laravel, and our ecommerce CRM development team can link orders and customer follow-up. The courier logic is the same, only the host platform differs.
