WordPress migration services that move your site without losing rankings or orders
We move WordPress sites between hosts, domains, servers and from other platforms, with full backups, redirect maps, staging tests and a planned cutover. It suits owners changing hosts, rebranding, merging sites or leaving a platform that no longer fits.

A move should be boring
The best migration is the one nobody notices. Pages load from a new server, email keeps working, forms deliver, orders arrive and Google sees the same site at the same addresses.
Getting there needs more than copying files. DNS timing, SSL certificates, email records, hard-coded URLs in the database, plugin licences tied to the old domain and caching rules all have to line up.
Reasons to migrate are usually practical. A host is slow or unreliable. A company is rebranding to a new domain. A business wants to merge two sites. An old HTML site or another CMS is becoming hard to manage. Or a developer disappeared and the site needs to move into hosting you control. Each case has its own risks, and we plan around them.
This service suits business owners, marketing managers and agencies who need a dependable pair of hands. We have built and moved many of our 500+ websites, so the order of operations is familiar.
Migration scenarios we handle
The route changes the checklist, so we identify it first.
Host to host
Moving to a faster or more reliable server, with the same domain and URLs.
Domain change or rebrand
New domain, with page-by-page redirects, Search Console change of address and updated tracking.
Platform to WordPress
From static HTML, Wix, Joomla or another CMS, mapping content and URLs carefully.
WordPress to a new build
Keeping content and SEO value while moving to a new theme or structure.
Merging multiple sites
Combining microsites or old brands into one stronger domain.
Local or staging to live
Taking a development copy through to production safely.

- Pre-move auditWe record plugins, versions, PHP needs, cron jobs, redirects, email setup and any integrations that depend on the domain.
- Full backupsFiles and database copied and stored separately before anything is changed.
- Staging migrationThe site is rebuilt on the new server under a temporary address and tested like a live site.
- URL and database handlingSearch-and-replace of internal URLs done safely, including serialised data that breaks with a naive replace.
- Redirect mapOld to new URL mapping with 301 redirects for every changed address.
- DNS and SSLRecords, TTL planning and certificates set up so the switch is clean.
- Email checkMailboxes and MX records confirmed so enquiries are not lost.
- Post-move monitoringIndexing, errors, forms, speed and analytics reviewed in the days after launch.

Migration timeline in six stages
Duration depends on size and approvals. The sequence stays the same.
- DiscoveryWe inspect the current site and hosting, agree the type of move and flag risks such as custom code or limited access.
- Backup and staging buildA complete copy is made and installed on the new environment for testing.
- TestingWe check pages, menus, forms, payment flows, media, redirects and speed against the original.
- Freeze and final syncContent changes are paused, then fresh orders, comments or posts are brought across so nothing is lost.
- DNS cutoverThe domain points to the new server in a planned window, with the old host kept as a fallback.
- VerificationWe confirm indexing, sitemaps, tracking and uptime, then retire the old environment on your approval.
SEO protection checklist
This is where migrations usually go wrong, and where we spend the most time.
Item | Why it matters | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
URL structure | Changed addresses lose rankings | Keep URLs where possible, redirect where not |
301 redirects | Visitors and Google reach the right page | Full map tested after launch |
Robots and noindex | Staging settings can leak to live | Checked before and after cutover |
Sitemaps | Google needs the new list of pages | Regenerated and submitted in Search Console |
Tracking | Gaps in GA4 hide drops | Tags verified on staging and live |
Internal links | Old links slow crawling | Updated in content and menus |
Tools we use
Choices depend on site size and host.
Migration plugins
All-in-One WP Migration, Duplicator or host-provided tools for suitable sites.
Command line tools
WP-CLI and database exports for large or complex sites.
Search-replace utilities
Safe handling of serialised data when domains change.
Crawlers
Screaming Frog or similar to compare old and new URLs.
Search Console and GA4
Monitoring indexing and traffic after the move.
Staging hosting
A temporary server so testing never touches live visitors.
Mistakes that cause trouble after a move
We check for each of these.
Forgetting email records
Enquiries vanish when MX records are overwritten.
Leaving staging indexable
Duplicate copies compete with the real site.
Changing permalinks casually
Every changed address needs a redirect.
Skipping plugin licence updates
Premium plugins stop updating when the domain no longer matches.
Details that change the effort
We quote after reviewing the site and hosts.
Site size
Large media libraries and databases take longer to copy and verify.
Number of URL changes
A same-domain host move needs few redirects. A restructure needs many.
Custom code and integrations
Payment gateways, CRMs and APIs tied to server addresses need re-testing.
Downtime tolerance
Stores that cannot pause orders need a more careful final sync.
Access quality
Missing hosting logins and plugin licences slow every project.
Clean-up needs
Moving a hacked or bloated site calls for removal of problems first.
A scenario worth planning for
Imagine a Sialkot exporter whose site sits on a slow shared server and is moving to a better host in the same week the sales team is emailing a new catalogue. Moving the site is sensible. Moving it during that week is not.
We would build the copy on staging, test it fully, then switch DNS after the campaign traffic settles, with the old server kept running in case of trouble.
A careful sequence with a fallback turns a stressful event into a calm one.
Situations where moving is the wrong fix
If pages are slow because of a heavy theme, a new server will help only a little, and our WordPress speed optimization team can show the real cause first.
Our website redesign services and the website redesign checklist cover that route.
Changing hosts during a major launch or seasonal sale adds risk that is usually avoidable by waiting.
Proof by method: how success is judged
We compare crawl results before and after, track indexed pages in Search Console and watch GA4 sessions and conversions against the previous period, allowing for normal fluctuation.
Payments are in USD for international clients, and communication runs through email and WhatsApp or calls overlapping your working day.
After the move, WordPress security hardening closes gaps a new server can introduce, and WordPress maintenance and support keeps things current.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
Will I lose my Google rankings if I migrate?
A careful migration should not cause lasting loss, although small short-term movement is normal after any change. Risk rises when URLs change without redirects, so we map and test them. Nobody can promise zero fluctuation.
How long will my site be down?
For a same-domain host move, effective downtime can be very short or none, since the new server is prepared in advance and DNS then switches. We schedule the final step for a quiet period.
Can you move a site from Wix or another platform to WordPress?
Yes, though there is no one-click path. Content, images and URLs are rebuilt and mapped manually or with import tools, and redirects protect old addresses. Design is usually rebuilt, which is a good time to plan a refresh with our Elementor website development team.
Do you move email too?
We check email records so enquiries are not interrupted. Mailbox moves depend on your provider. If email is hosted with your old host, we plan its migration or a switch to a separate service.
What do you need from me to start?
Access to the current hosting, domain registrar and WordPress admin, plus details of plugin licences. If you cannot find them, we help recover access.
Can you migrate a WooCommerce store?
Yes. Orders and customers are synced at the final cutover and payment flows are tested on staging. To discuss timing, contact us.
