Custom WordPress theme development that is built around your content, not a template
We design the code layer of your site from scratch: templates, blocks, styles and settings written for your content and your team, with nothing you do not use. It suits businesses that have outgrown a bought theme, or that need speed, control and a layout no marketplace theme offers.

- Hand-built templates with no unused page-builder or theme-bundle code
- Editor-friendly blocks and fields so your team updates content without a developer
- Delivered with documentation, staging and a clean handover of the source
A theme that fits the site instead of the reverse
A bought multipurpose theme arrives with dozens of demos, sliders, shortcodes and options. You use perhaps a tenth of it, but every visitor downloads the code for all of it.
Custom WordPress theme development flips that. We start from your design and your content model, then write only the templates, styles and scripts the site needs. The result is smaller, faster to load, easier to secure and much less painful to change two years from now.
The theme is also where your editing experience is decided. A good custom build gives your marketing team clear fields, reusable blocks and sensible previews, so adding a landing page or a team member is a ten minute job. A poor one forces everyone to paste into a page builder and hope the spacing survives.
We have built more than 500 websites over 18+ years, and the pattern holds on every one: the sites that age well are the ones whose structure matches how the business actually publishes. A clinic needs treatment pages and doctor profiles. A property firm needs listings with filters. A course business needs lesson templates. We model that first, then design around it. Parent service: WordPress website development.
Problems a custom build solves
These are the situations where clients usually come to us.
Slow, bloated pages
A theme and its stack of add-ons loads files for features you never switched on. A lean custom theme removes that weight at source.
A design nobody can reproduce
Marketplace themes bend only so far. When your brand needs specific grids, interactions or typography, custom templates do exactly what the design file says.
Editors afraid to touch pages
We replace fragile page-builder layouts with structured blocks and fields, so content changes cannot break the layout.
Outgrown or abandoned themes
If your theme author stopped updating, you carry the risk. Owning the code means you control updates and compatibility. Where the site is mostly editorial and brochure content, see our CMS website development work.
Complex content types
Case studies, events, products, doctors, courses or listings each get their own post type, fields and archive templates.
Stricter accessibility and SEO needs
Semantic markup, heading order, schema output and focus states are built in rather than patched on later.
Why trust this team with your build
For Custom WordPress Theme Development, projects live or die on maintainability. Here is what stands behind the delivery.

Certified expertise
For Custom WordPress Theme Development, engineering is planned together with SEO, speed and reporting, so what ships is findable, fast and measurable rather than just finished.
Recognised work
Led by Junaid Tariq, a National Level Award Winner in Digital Marketing who also builds WordPress plugins, CRMs and web applications. See the about page.
Transparent by default
A written scope and milestones before build, code and documentation handed over at the end and hosting or domain accounts kept in your name.
Block themes, classic themes and what we recommend
We choose per project.
A block theme suits teams that want to adjust headers, footers and templates visually, and that accept a slightly steeper learning curve.
Features such as custom order handling, CRM syncing or booking rules live in a plugin, so you can change the design later without losing functionality.
If your project needs that kind of feature work, our WordPress plugin development team builds it as a separate, documented component.
For clients in Pakistan we also plan for realities such as uneven connections and low-memory phones, so templates avoid heavy sliders and autoplay video above the fold, and fonts load in a way that does not block the page.

Files and documents you own at handover
Every project ships with a defined set of files and documents, so you know exactly what you own.
- Design-to-code templatesHome, archive, single, search, 404 and any custom layouts coded from your approved design, responsive from small phones to wide desktops.
- Block and field libraryCustom Gutenberg blocks or structured fields for repeatable sections such as heroes, feature rows, testimonials, pricing and FAQs.
- Custom post types and taxonomiesContent models set up for your business, with admin screens your editors can understand.
- Theme settings panelLogos, colours, header and footer options and tracking snippets managed in one place instead of in code.
- Performance baselineImage sizing, script loading and font handling configured so templates are fast before plugins are added. Deeper tuning sits with WordPress speed optimization.
- Accessibility and SEO structureHeading order, landmarks, alt text support, breadcrumb and schema output, and clean URLs ready for your SEO plan.
- Staging, documentation and sourceA staging copy, a short editor guide, and the full theme source in a repository you own.
Delivery plan from brief to launch
A normal project runs in six stages. Dates depend on page count, content readiness and how quickly feedback comes back.
- Discovery and content modelWe review your goals, existing site, analytics and the content you publish, then agree page types, fields and the sitemap.
- Design approvalWireframes and visual designs for key templates are reviewed with you. We build only from approved design.
- Theme build on stagingTemplates, blocks and settings are coded in a staging environment you can open at any time to review progress.
- Content and integrationWe connect forms, CRM, analytics, payment or booking tools, and load or migrate content.
- TestingWe check browsers, devices, keyboard navigation, forms, speed and editor workflows before anything goes live.
- Launch and handoverGo-live with redirects and backups ready, then a walkthrough of the editor and the code so your team is not dependent on us.
Technology we build with
Tools are chosen for maintainability, not novelty.
Layer | What we use | Why |
|---|---|---|
Theme foundation | PHP template hierarchy, block themes or classic themes | Matches the editing experience you need |
Editor | Gutenberg blocks, Advanced Custom Fields | Structured, reusable content |
Front end | Modern CSS, minimal JavaScript, build tooling | Small files, fast rendering |
Version control | Git with staging deployment | Reviewable changes and easy rollback |
Quality | Browser testing, Lighthouse, Search Console | Evidence before launch, not opinions |
Cost and timeline factors
The factors that move the quote are the number of unique templates, how many custom blocks the design needs, the amount of interactive behaviour, third-party integrations such as CRMs, payment gateways or booking tools, multilingual needs including Urdu or Arabic right-to-left layouts, and how much content must be migrated.
We give a fixed scope and a written estimate after discovery, in USD for overseas clients, and we flag anything that falls outside it before work starts.
Our guide to WordPress website cost walks through the same factors in more detail.
Cases where custom is the wrong choice
If you are launching a five page brochure site on a tight budget and you will change layouts yourself, a well-chosen existing theme or a page builder setup is usually more sensible.
Our comparison of Elementor versus a custom WordPress theme sets out the trade-offs honestly.
If your team likes dragging sections around freely, we may suggest Elementor website development with a lean base theme instead. Both can be good.
Proof by method: how we show it worked
We do not promise rankings or sales from a theme alone. We measure what code can influence.
- Before and after speed checksCore Web Vitals field data from Search Console and lab tests on key templates, compared with the old site.
- Editor task testingWe ask your team to complete real tasks, such as publishing a landing page, and fix anything slower than it should be.
- Crawl and index reviewAfter launch we crawl the site, check redirects, canonical tags and indexation in Search Console.
- Conversion trackingForms, calls and WhatsApp clicks are tagged in GA4 so you see what the new templates do for enquiries.
- Post-launch fixesA defined support window covers defects found after launch. Ongoing care is available under WordPress maintenance and support.
Common mistakes we help you avoid
Patterns we see when businesses commission a theme.
Designing before the content model
If fields and page types are decided after design, templates get rebuilt. We settle structure first.
Hard-coding what editors should control
Phone numbers, banners and menus hidden in code force a developer visit for every change.
Loading libraries for one effect
A whole animation library for a single fade is a common cause of slow pages.
No staging or version control
Editing a live theme directly is how sites break on a Friday evening. We deploy through staging.
Skipping documentation
A theme nobody understands becomes a new lock-in. We write short, practical notes and comment the code.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
How long does a custom WordPress theme take to build?
It depends on the number of unique templates, custom blocks and integrations, and on how quickly content and feedback arrive. We give a written estimate after discovery. Simple corporate sites finish far sooner than portals with filters, accounts and multilingual content.
Will I own the theme code?
Yes. You receive the full source in a repository and the theme is yours to modify or hand to another developer. We write standard WordPress code with comments so any competent developer can pick it up. Stores need extra planning, which we cover under WooCommerce development.
Can you convert my existing design or Figma file into a theme?
Yes. If you already have approved designs we code them faithfully, and we flag any element that will hurt speed or accessibility so you can decide before build, not after. If the existing site only needs a refresh, WordPress redesign services may be quicker.
Is a custom theme better for SEO than a premium theme?
It removes some common problems such as bloated code, poor heading order and slow templates, but a theme alone does not rank a site. Content, links and technical hygiene still decide results. We pair builds with WordPress SEO services when clients want both.
Can my team edit the site without a developer?
That is a design goal. We build blocks and fields around what your editors do weekly, then train them. Structural changes, such as a new template, would still need development time. Connections to CRMs and external systems fall under WordPress API integration.
Do you work with clients outside Pakistan?
Yes. Our team in Lahore works with clients in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Europe, with overlap hours agreed at kickoff. You can start with a call through our contact page.
