Meta ecommerce and catalog ads that sell the right products to the right shoppers
We set up and run Meta ecommerce & catalog ads: product feeds, Shop and Advantage+ catalog campaigns and dynamic retargeting on Facebook and Instagram. It suits online stores with a working checkout that want ad spend tied to orders, not likes.

- Catalog, feed and pixel checked before budget goes live
- Product sets built around margin and stock, not the whole catalogue
- Reporting that matches Meta numbers against your store orders
The case for catalog-driven selling
A catalog ad is built from your product feed instead of a single image. Meta pulls the title, price, photo and link for each item and shows people the products they are most likely to want, based on what they viewed, added to cart or bought.
Done properly, one campaign can speak to thousands of different shoppers with thousands of different products. Done carelessly, it shows out-of-stock items with the wrong price to people who bought yesterday.
This service suits Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and custom stores with a reasonable range of products and a checkout that works on mobile. It also suits Pakistani sellers who take cash on delivery, because we can plan for confirmation calls and returns instead of pretending every order is paid. If you sell two or three products on a single landing page, you probably need ad creative and a sharper offer more than a catalog, and we will say so.
Most of the stores we see have the same few problems. The feed has duplicate items or missing sizes. The pixel fires twice on the thank-you page. Every product is advertised equally, so the discounted slow movers eat budget while the bestsellers wait. Catalog ads fix these only if someone cleans the data and sets priorities first.
Deliverables in the engagement
Scope adapts to your platform and catalogue size, but these are the pieces that matter.
- Feed and catalog setupWe connect your store to Commerce Manager, map fields, fix titles, categories and image problems and check that prices and availability sync on schedule.
- Product set strategySets built from margin, season, stock depth and price band so Meta spends on products that pay for themselves.
- Campaign structureProspecting, retargeting and, where it fits, Advantage+ shopping campaigns kept in separate lanes so each can be judged on its own job.
- Dynamic and static creativeCatalog templates, collection ads and a few hand-made videos or carousels for hero products. Our ad creative and UGC production team handles anything custom.
- Event and attribution checkPurchase, add to cart and view content events verified through the pixel and server events, as covered in our Meta Pixel and Conversions API setup.
- Retargeting layerProduct viewers, cart abandoners and past buyers handled by rules, with sensible exclusion windows. See also Meta retargeting campaigns.
- Monthly reportSpend, orders, revenue by product set and what we changed, reconciled with your store admin.

From feed audit to scaling
Typical order of work for a new store account.
- Store and tracking auditWe check the pixel, server events, domain verification and how orders reach your admin, including COD and WhatsApp confirmed orders.
- Feed clean-upTitles, variants, images, availability and custom labels are corrected at the source so fixes survive the next sync.
- Catalog and product setsWe create sets by category, margin and price, and exclude items that should never be advertised.
- Launch in stagesRetargeting and a small prospecting test go live first, then wider audiences and Advantage+ once data arrives.
- Learning and pruningWe avoid constant edits early on, then cut weak sets, rotate creative and adjust exclusions.
- Scale or holdBudget rises only when store orders support it. If margins do not hold, we recommend pausing and fixing the offer.

Platforms and tools we connect
Catalog ads depend on clean links between your store, Meta and your reporting.
Tool | Role | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
Commerce Manager | Catalog and feed health | Shows item errors and sync status |
Shopify or WooCommerce feed app | Product data export | Keeps price and stock current |
Meta Pixel and server events | Purchase and cart signals | Feeds dynamic ads and attribution |
Events Manager | Event diagnostics | Finds duplicate or missing events |
GA4 | Independent traffic check | Cross-checks Meta against site behaviour |
Looker Studio | Client dashboard | Spend beside orders and revenue |
Factors that shape scope and timeline
We quote after seeing the store. These are the factors that change the amount of work.
Catalogue size
A few dozen products need little structure. Several thousand need custom labels, rules and exclusions.
Feed condition
Clean data speeds launch. Missing variants or poor images add a repair phase.
Tracking state
Broken or duplicate events must be fixed before results can be trusted.
Creative supply
Good product photography saves time. Building video or lifestyle shots from nothing adds work.
Markets and currencies
Several countries, currencies or languages mean more catalogs and more reporting.
Fulfilment model
Cash on delivery, courier returns and manual confirmation change how success is measured.
Stores that should wait before using catalogs
If your store has a handful of items, thin photography and no pixel history, begin with simple prospecting ads and a clear offer.
Catalog ads also struggle when most of your sales come through WhatsApp conversations rather than the website, because Meta cannot see those orders unless they are sent back.
Ads create demand quickly, and a store that cannot ship on time turns that demand into refunds and angry comments.
If the store itself converts poorly, a speed and checkout review often pays more than extra budget.
If that is your category, see how we approach fashion and apparel brand marketing.
Proof by method: how we show results
Each month we compare Meta purchases with orders in your Shopify or WooCommerce admin, then look at revenue by product set, new versus returning customers and, where data allows, delivered orders against returns.
Meta and your store will never match exactly, because of attribution windows and browser privacy limits.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
What is the difference between catalog ads and normal Meta ads?
Normal ads use a fixed image or video. Catalog ads draw products from your feed and show each person items based on their behaviour. You need a working feed and pixel for them. Many stores run both, using hand-made creative for hero products and catalog ads for breadth.
Do I need Shopify to run catalog ads?
No. Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and custom stores can all supply a feed through a plugin, a scheduled file or an API. Shopify tends to be the simplest to connect. Whatever the platform, price, stock and URLs must be accurate.
Should I use Advantage+ shopping campaigns?
They can work well for stores with enough purchase data, since Meta handles audience selection. They give you less control, so they need good creative and exclusions for existing customers. We usually test them beside a manual structure. Read our Advantage+ guide for the basics.
Can catalog ads work with cash on delivery?
Yes. The ads sell the product and the pixel records the order, but you should track confirmed and delivered orders as well. Otherwise Meta learns from orders that never ship. We agree a reporting method for COD stores at the start.
How much budget do I need?
It depends on average order value, margin, catalogue size and how quickly you want data. We discuss a realistic starting budget after reviewing the store, and we will tell you if the budget is too small for a catalog setup.
Can you take over ads that are already running?
Yes. We audit the account, feed and tracking first, tell you what to keep and avoid resetting what is working. Reach out for a consultation and we will explain the first steps.
