Meta ads audit & optimization that finds where the budget leaks and fixes it
We review your Facebook and Instagram ad account, tracking and creative, then repair what is costing you money and set a testing plan. It suits advertisers whose results have stalled, whose costs have crept up, or who have never had an independent person check the setup.

A second opinion on an account that has stopped working
Ad accounts decay quietly. A campaign launched well eighteen months ago now carries overlapping audiences, a pixel that misses half the events, three creatives that everyone has seen twenty times and a budget split nobody remembers deciding.
Reports still show activity. The business just feels fewer enquiries or more expensive ones.
An audit is a structured check of the whole system, not just the ad manager screen. We look at the account, the tracking, the creative, the landing pages and what your team does with a lead. In many cases the biggest leak is outside Ads Manager: a slow page, a form that fails on some phones, or an unanswered WhatsApp inbox.
Our Meta ads audit & optimization service is a practical, senior-level review. You get a plain-language report that ranks the problems by likely impact, tells you what to fix first and explains why. It sits inside our wider Meta ads management services, and many clients use it as a first step before deciding on ongoing work.
Signs the account needs a review
Any one of these is reason enough to look. Several together almost always mean waste.
Cost per result keeps rising
Creative fatigue, audience saturation or tracking loss often explain a slow upward drift.
Leads look good in Meta, poor in sales
A mismatch between platform numbers and your records usually points to tracking, form or follow-up faults.
Spend is high, learning is stuck
Too many ad sets splitting a small budget keeps campaigns from leaving the learning phase.
Nobody can explain the structure
Campaigns named by date or by who made them, with no clear purpose, hide waste.
Results swing week to week
Frequent manual edits, budget changes and audience swaps reset learning and make data noisy.
A previous agency left the account
Ownership, permissions, pixels and old audiences all need a clean-up and a record of what exists.

Audit timeline and what happens after it
Duration depends on account size and how quickly we get access. The order stays the same.
- Access and goalsYou add us to the ad account, Page and pixel with the roles we need. We agree what success means for the business.
- Data collectionWe export campaign data, review tracking, read your best and worst ads and look at the landing experience.
- AnalysisWe test hypotheses against the data and look for patterns across creative, audience, placement and timing.
- Findings sessionWe walk you through the report live, including what we are unsure about and what needs your input.
- Fix phaseWe apply the fixes we can, or give your team a ranked list with settings and screenshots.
- Follow-up checkAfter a few weeks we compare results against the baseline and decide what to test next.
Common findings and the repair
Patterns we see repeatedly, with the usual remedy.
Finding | Why it hurts | Typical fix |
|---|---|---|
Duplicate or missing pixel events | Meta optimises on wrong or partial data | Clean event setup, deduplication, test in Events Manager |
Too many small ad sets | Budget fragments, learning stalls | Consolidate to fewer, stronger ad sets |
Cold and warm audiences mixed | Retargeting spend is mistaken for prospecting success | Separate campaigns with exclusions |
One creative for months | Frequency rises, cost drifts up | Planned creative rotation and testing |
Wrong objective | Traffic or engagement optimised, not leads or sales | Rebuild on a conversion objective |
Slow or mismatched landing page | Clicks leave before converting | Speed fixes and message match |
Tools behind the review
We work mainly inside Meta Ads Manager and Events Manager, then compare against Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, your CRM or lead sheet and, where relevant, Shopify or WooCommerce order data.
For landing pages we use PageSpeed Insights and a check on real phones, because desktop impressions can be misleading when most of your traffic is mobile.
If the problem is deep in the tracking layer, the follow-on work is described under Meta Pixel and Conversions API setup.
If the creative is the weak link, we may recommend our ad creative and UGC production service.
If your issue is limited to one channel, you may prefer to look at Facebook ads management directly.
Automated scores are a starting point, but the useful findings come from reading the account with your business in mind.
Pricing factors and when an audit is not the answer
The price of an audit depends on account complexity: number of campaigns, ad accounts and markets, tracking depth, amount of historical data, and whether you want us to implement the fixes.
Sometimes the honest finding is that Meta ads are not the right channel at the moment.
If you only need a faster answer to one question, such as why your cost per click is high, our academy lesson on lowering cost per click on Meta ads may be enough.
Optimisation after the audit: the ongoing rhythm
The other half is changing things in an order that lets you read the result. If we alter audiences, creative, budget and landing page in one week, we cannot tell which move helped.
Each change is logged with a date and a reason.
We check spend pacing, frequency, creative performance and lead quality, make small controlled moves and keep a running list of tests.
A short handover call, a testing template and a checklist of what to review each week are often enough to keep an account healthy without paying for constant management.
Attribution caveats worth knowing
Numbers inside Ads Manager will rarely match GA4 or your sales records exactly, and that gap is normal.
A sudden change after a site update or a consent banner tweak usually means something broke.
For most clients that is a combination of CRM outcomes and platform data, not either alone.
Proof by method: before and after you can verify
After fixes we compare like for like over a sensible window, and we flag outside factors such as seasonality, stock problems or a competitor promotion.
The report, the checklist and the settings we changed are documented so another person can understand them.
Our Meta ads case studies show how we present findings, and the contact page is the best way to start a review.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
How long does a Meta ads audit take?
It depends on the size of the account and how fast we receive access. Small accounts can be reviewed quickly, while larger multi-market accounts need more time. We give you a realistic estimate after a short first look.
Do you need full access to my ad account?
We need enough access to view campaigns, the pixel and Events Manager. Analyst or advertiser roles are normally enough for the review, and you stay the owner. We will request additional rights only if you want us to apply fixes.
Will you also make the changes?
We can. Some clients take the report to their in-house team, while others ask us to implement the fixes and continue with ongoing work such as Facebook ads management. Both options are fine.
What if my results are poor because of my product, not my ads?
We will tell you. If the data shows demand or the offer is the problem, we say so and suggest what to test, or advise pausing spend. An honest answer is worth more than a longer engagement.
Can an audit help with a restricted or disabled ad account?
We can review the history and advise on policy-safe practice, but we cannot overturn Meta's decisions or promise reinstatement. Always check the current Meta advertising policies and appeal process for your case.
Is this the same as ongoing management?
No. An audit is a point-in-time review with recommendations. Ongoing management runs the account weekly. Many clients start with an audit, then choose whether to continue with our wider Meta ads management team.
