Custom ERP development that matches how your business runs
Custom ERP development means designing and building one connected system for sales, purchasing, stock, accounts, HR and reporting, written around your own processes instead of a vendor's template. It suits companies whose way of working is the advantage and whose workarounds in off-the-shelf software have started to cost real time.

Bespoke versus packaged: the honest comparison
Packaged ERP products are the right answer more often than developers admit. If your processes look like most companies in your sector, Odoo or ERPNext will be live sooner and cost less to keep running.
We say so in the first call, and we deliver both through Odoo ERP development and ERPNext implementation.
Custom becomes sensible when the process itself is what you sell. Think of a contract manufacturer with job-specific costing, a distributor with customer-wise price lists and credit limits that change by season, a services firm that bills by milestone across several entities, or a group that needs branch-level control with head-office consolidation. In those cases a packaged system turns into a pile of overrides, and every upgrade breaks one of them.
The second reason is ownership. With a custom build you decide the roadmap, the hosting and who maintains it. There is no per-user licence that grows every time you hire, and no vendor deciding that a feature you rely on is now a paid add-on. The trade-off is real: you also own the responsibility for security patches and upgrades, which is why we plan ERP support & maintenance into the proposal rather than leaving it as an afterthought.
Our wider comparison of the three routes is in the guide to Odoo, ERPNext and custom ERP. Read it before you sign anything with anyone, including us.
Operational problems a custom ERP removes
These are the patterns we hear most often from owners and finance heads before a project starts.
Data typed three times
Sales writes the order in a spreadsheet, the store re-keys it, accounts enters it again. One order record feeds all three.
Stock that nobody trusts
Counts differ between the warehouse, the books and the sales team. Movements are posted once, by the person who made them.
Approvals on WhatsApp
Discount requests and purchase approvals sit in chat threads. They move into a workflow with names, times and limits.
Month-end firefighting
Closing takes days because figures are collected from files. Live ledgers and reconciliations shorten that work.
Reports built by hand
Management packs depend on one person's Excel skills. Dashboards read straight from the system.
Branch blind spots
Head office learns about a problem at the branch after the damage. Branch data is visible daily, with permissions per role.

Custom ERP deliverables in the statement of work
Exact modules depend on discovery. This is the usual shape of a statement of work.
- Process map and requirements documentCurrent and target workflows written in plain language, signed off before development starts.
- Data model and architectureEntities, relations, roles and integration points, designed so new modules do not force a rewrite.
- Core modulesTypically sales, purchasing, inventory, accounting and reporting, with HR, payroll, production or projects added as needed.
- Role-based access and audit logWho can view, create, approve or delete each record, and a trace of who changed what.
- IntegrationsBanks, payment gateways, couriers, e-commerce stores, biometric devices or government portals, as scoped. See ERP integration & migration.
- Data migrationOpening balances, items, customers, vendors and open documents loaded, reconciled and checked by your team.
- Training and manualsRole-wise sessions, short videos or written guides in English, with Urdu notes where staff prefer it.
- Source code and deployment packRepository access, environment setup notes and backup and restore scripts.

Delivery plan, module by module
We avoid the big-bang launch. Modules go live in a sequence your staff can absorb.
- Discovery and workflow mappingWorkshops with finance, operations and sales. We watch how work really happens, including the spreadsheets, and write down the rules.
- Scope, phases and fixed deliverablesThe system is split into phases, each with its own acceptance checklist. Phase one covers the modules that remove the most daily pain.
- Design and prototypeScreens and approval flows are shown as clickable prototypes so users correct them before code exists.
- Build in short cyclesTwo to three week cycles ending in a staging release that your team tests with real data.
- Migration, parallel run and trainingData is loaded, the old and new systems run side by side for a defined period, and users are trained by role.
- Go-live and stabilisationWe are on hand during the first closing cycle, fix what real use exposes and then move into a support arrangement.
Stack selection for a custom build
We select the stack with your hiring market and hosting in mind, so you are not tied to us.
Layer | Common options | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Back end | Laravel (PHP), ASP.NET Core, Python or Node.js | Chosen to match your team and existing systems |
Database | PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server | Transactions, reporting and mature backup tooling |
Front end | Vue or React for heavy screens, server-rendered pages elsewhere | Fast data entry matters more than animation |
Background jobs | Queues and schedulers | Invoices, statements, syncs and reminders run without blocking users |
Reports | SQL views, Metabase or built-in dashboards | Finance can answer questions without a developer |
Hosting | Cloud or on-premises server with scheduled backups | Matches data-residency and power or network realities |
Quote and calendar: the factors behind a bespoke ERP
We quote after discovery and we do not publish a price list, because two ERPs with the same module names can differ greatly in effort.
Number of modules
Each module brings screens, reports, permissions and tests. Accounting and manufacturing carry the most rules.
Process variation
Many branches, entities or unit conversions need more design than one office with one workflow.
Integrations
Every external system adds a connection to build, secure and monitor.
Migration volume
Years of historic data with inconsistent naming need cleaning before they load.
Compliance and reporting
Tax and statutory outputs for your market must be agreed with your accountant early.
Team availability
Fast sign-off from process owners is the biggest factor in calendar time.
Progress reporting and proof by method
What we do instead is define acceptance checks at the start of each phase: an order can travel from quotation to delivery to invoice to payment without re-entry, stock on hand matches a physical count, the trial balance ties to the subledgers, and a named user can complete each task in their role.
A weekly note covers completed work, open decisions, risks and the next release. Staging is always available so you can see the software itself rather than a slide.
After go-live we agree a short list of measures with you, such as time to close the month, number of manual entries removed and order cycle time, and we compare against the baseline taken during discovery.
Eighteen years of delivering software and digital systems for over 500 clients has taught us that adoption decides success more than features. Training, a sensible rollout order and a named owner on your side matter as much as the code.
Security, backups and uptime by design
Every account gets a role, passwords are hashed, sessions expire, sensitive actions such as price overrides or deleting a posted invoice require specific permission, and the audit log records who did what and when.
Power cuts and unstable broadband are normal in many offices, so we recommend hosting the system in a data centre or cloud region instead of a server in the back room, and we design screens to survive a dropped connection without losing a half-entered document.
Backups run on a schedule, are stored away from the main server and are restored on a test machine at agreed intervals, because a backup that has never been restored is only a hope.
Hosting location is easy to choose at the start and awkward to change later.
Situations where we advise against building
If the real issue is a single messy process, such as a purchase approval or a stock count, a focused module from our ERP module customization work may solve it without replacing everything.
Our enterprise software development team can scope that, and the mistakes we see most often are covered in ERP implementation mistakes to avoid.
Working with a Lahore team from anywhere
For clients in Pakistan we can meet on site by arrangement and run workshops in Urdu or English.
For clients in the UAE, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Europe we schedule overlap hours, work from a shared board and invoice in USD.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
How long does a custom ERP take to build?
It depends on the number of modules, branches and integrations. A first phase covering two or three core modules is usually delivered well before the full system, and we give you a phased calendar after discovery rather than a guess on the first call.
Can we start with a few modules and add more later?
Yes, and we recommend it. The data model is designed for the full picture so that adding payroll or production later does not mean rebuilding stock and accounts.
Who owns the source code?
You do, once the agreed payments are made. You receive the repository, documentation and deployment notes, so another developer or in-house team can maintain it.
How is a custom ERP different from Odoo or ERPNext?
Odoo and ERPNext are configurable products you adapt. A custom ERP is written for your processes, which gives more fit and control but more responsibility for upgrades. Both routes can be right, depending on how unusual your operation is.
Do you support the system after launch?
Yes. We offer monthly support with bug fixes, backups checks, security updates and small enhancements, described on the support and maintenance page.
Can you connect the ERP to our online store and courier?
Yes. Orders, stock levels and tracking numbers can move between the ERP, a Shopify or WooCommerce store and courier APIs, scoped as separate integration items.
Can the system work for branches in different cities or countries?
Yes. Branches can share one database with permissions per location, or run separately and consolidate at head office. We choose based on connectivity, data rules and how independent each branch is, and we confirm it during discovery.
