Website maintenance & support that keeps your site safe, fast and editable
Website maintenance and support is the ongoing care a live site needs: software updates, backups, security monitoring, uptime checks and small content or design fixes. We provide it for businesses that depend on their website for enquiries or sales and have no in-house developer.

- Scheduled updates tested on a staging copy before they touch your live site
- Daily backups and uptime monitoring with a tested restore process
- A real person to ask for changes, with a monthly report of work done
A launched site is not a finished site
A website is closer to a shop than a brochure. Software ages, plugins release security fixes, browsers change behaviour, hosting providers alter settings, and your own business moves on.
A site that nobody looks after still works for a while, which is exactly why it gets ignored. Then a contact form silently stops sending, an expired certificate scares visitors away or a hacked plugin starts redirecting people to spam.
Maintenance is the dull work that prevents those events. It is cheaper than recovery, and much cheaper than the leads lost while a site is down without anyone noticing. The people who feel the benefit most are owners who never think about their site, because it simply works.
We have built more than 500 websites and have seen what neglect does to them. Our approach is to agree a clear list of recurring tasks, watch the site the way a technician watches a machine, and be reachable when something needs changing. It suits WordPress and WooCommerce sites, Shopify stores, Magento shops and custom PHP or Laravel applications.
Website maintenance & support: recurring work in every plan
The list below is the baseline. Higher tiers add more hours and faster response.
- Core, theme and plugin updatesApplied on a staging copy first, checked for conflicts, then pushed live, with rollback ready if something breaks.
- Backups and restore testsAutomated backups stored off the server, plus periodic test restores, because an untested backup is only a hope.
- Security monitoringMalware scans, login protection, firewall rules and checks for suspicious file changes. See our WordPress security hardening for deeper work.
- Uptime and certificate checksAlerts if the site goes down, loads very slowly or approaches SSL expiry, so we act before visitors notice.
- Form, checkout and tracking testsRegular test submissions of forms and key journeys, plus confirmation that GA4 and ad tags still fire.
- Content and design changesA monthly allowance of small edits such as new team members, banners, text and image updates.
- Performance reviewPeriodic speed checks and clean-up of database bloat, unused plugins and oversized media.
- Monthly reportA plain summary of updates made, issues found, incidents and recommendations.

Onboarding and the monthly rhythm
The first month is the heaviest, because we need to understand what we are looking after.
- Site health auditWe review versions, plugins, hosting, security settings, backups and speed, and list anything that needs fixing before routine care begins.
- Safety netBackups, monitoring and a staging copy are set up, and access is organised so that no single person holds all the keys.
- Clean-upUnused plugins and users are removed, outdated components updated and obvious weaknesses closed.
- Routine cycleUpdates, scans and checks run on a fixed schedule, with urgent security patches applied sooner.
- Request handlingYou send change requests by email or ticket, and we confirm scope and timing before starting.
- Monthly reviewWe share the report, discuss upcoming needs and flag anything that has become a business risk.

The real cost of skipping updates
An update applied blindly to a live site can take it down.
The answer is not to avoid updates, but to apply them with a safety net: a staging copy, a fresh backup, a quick test of the important paths and a way back if something misbehaves.
Most successful attacks on small business sites use known weaknesses in outdated plugins that already have a fix available.
Automated bots scan the internet for those versions constantly, so a site in Lahore or London is as visible to them as any large brand.
Old software also drifts out of step with newer PHP versions and with browsers, which produces odd errors that are hard to trace months later.
Small, frequent, tested updates are far less risky than one giant jump after two years of silence, and that gap is exactly where we are asked to rescue sites.
Platform notes
Different platforms need different kinds of attention.
Platform | Main maintenance risk | Where we focus |
|---|---|---|
WordPress | Plugin vulnerabilities and conflicts | Staged updates, security, speed. See WordPress maintenance |
WooCommerce | Checkout and payment breakage | Order flow tests, gateway checks |
Shopify | App bloat and theme changes | App review, speed, theme edits |
Magento | Security patches and version gaps | Patching and extension checks |
Custom PHP or Laravel | Outdated frameworks and PHP versions | Dependency updates, code review |
Contract and cost factors
We price after looking at the site, because two sites of the same size can need very different care.
Platform and complexity
A simple brochure site needs less attention than a store with payments, memberships and integrations.
Hosting setup
Good hosting reduces risk. Weak or shared servers add monitoring and recovery work.
Change allowance
The number of hours reserved for edits and new features each month.
Response expectations
Faster response windows and out-of-hours cover for stores that sell around the clock cost more to staff.
Condition on takeover
Sites with old software or past hacks need a clean-up before routine care begins.
Billing and payment
Monthly or annual retainers, invoiced in USD for international clients.
Cases where a retainer is unnecessary
A small static site with no forms, no plugins and no changing content can safely run for long periods with only hosting and backups. Paying for monthly care in that situation is waste, and we will say so.
You may be better served by website redesign services or targeted website speed optimization, with maintenance added after launch.
Once you do have a stable base, a retainer protects the investment, and can be combined with responsive web design updates as devices change.
Reports that show the work was done
Each report lists the updates applied with dates, the result of the latest backup test, uptime figures from the monitor, security events and open recommendations. If something went wrong, the report says what happened and what we changed.
Our guides on WordPress security for business sites and speeding up WordPress show the standards we apply in practice.
Support is run from Gulberg III in Lahore, with hours that overlap the UK and UAE and early US business time, and we also look after sites for clients in Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Europe.
Our wider website development services cover the build side, and you can contact us for a free site health check.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
What happens if my site gets hacked?
We isolate the problem, restore from a clean backup or remove the malicious code, change passwords and keys, and close the entry point. We then explain how it happened. Major clean-ups of sites that were never maintained can be quoted separately.
Do I need maintenance if I already have hosting support?
Usually yes. Hosting support looks after the server, not your plugins, themes, forms or content. Some hosts offer backups, but you still need someone to manage updates and test the site afterwards.
Can you maintain a site you did not build?
Yes. We start with a health audit, record what we find and tell you what needs attention before routine care starts. Sites in poor condition need a clean-up first.
How quickly do you respond to problems?
Response time depends on the plan and the severity of the issue. Outages and security events come first. We agree the targets in writing at the start so there are no surprises.
Are content changes included?
Small edits are covered by an allowance each month. Larger changes, such as new sections or features, are quoted as projects. That keeps maintenance affordable and project work clearly scoped.
