Blazor development that lets your .NET team build the whole app in C#

We design and build interactive web applications with Blazor, Microsoft's component framework for .NET, so your interface and your business logic live in one language and one codebase. It suits companies that already run on C# and SQL Server and want modern, responsive screens without a separate JavaScript team.

By Junaid Tariq Reviewed October 2026

  • Hosting model chosen on evidence, not fashion: Server, WebAssembly or the mixed modes in current .NET
  • Reusable component library so every new screen is faster than the last
  • Tested against your real data volumes and your users' real devices

The case for Blazor on a .NET team

Blazor lets developers write browser interfaces with C# and Razor instead of JavaScript. The same models, validation rules and service classes can be used on the server and in the page, which removes a whole category of bugs where front end and back end disagree about what a field means.

For a business application with forms, grids, approvals and reports, that matters more than any animation library.

We recommend it most often to three kinds of client. The first is a company with an in-house or long-term .NET team that wants to extend its skills to the browser. The second is a business replacing an aging desktop or Web Forms system and keeping the C# logic it has already paid for. The third is a product owner who wants a single technical stack to hire for, support and secure.

A practical example: an internal approvals tool for a manufacturer in Sialkot has dozens of forms with conditional fields, role-based screens and document uploads. Built as components, each form is a small unit with shared validation, and a new request type becomes days of work, not weeks. We would not pick Blazor for a public marketing site that depends on search traffic, and we say so below.

Scope of a typical Blazor build

Scope varies by product, but these are the pieces you can expect to see in a proposal.

  • Discovery and architecture noteA written summary of users, workflows, integrations and the hosting model we propose, with the reasons behind it.
  • UI component libraryButtons, grids, dialogs, form controls and layout shells built once, styled to your brand and reused across the application.
  • Authentication and rolesSign-in with ASP.NET Core Identity, Microsoft Entra ID or your existing identity provider, plus role and permission checks on every page and API call.
  • Data and API layerEntity Framework Core or Dapper against SQL Server, PostgreSQL or your current database, with clean services between the screens and the data.
  • Real-time featuresLive status updates, notifications and collaborative screens with SignalR where the product needs them.
  • Automated testsComponent tests with bUnit and service tests, so changes do not quietly break approved behaviour.
  • Deployment pipelineBuild and release automation to Azure, IIS or your own servers, with staging and rollback.
  • Handover documentationCode walkthrough, runbook and a short training session for your developers.

Delivery plan from first workshop to release

We work in short cycles so you see working screens early and can change direction cheaply.

  1. Workshop and scopingWe sit with the people who will use the app, map the main journeys and agree what the first release must do and what can wait.
  2. Prototype of the hard screensWe build the two or three most complex screens first, because they expose the real technical risk.
  3. Foundation sprintProject structure, identity, data access, logging and the component library are set up before feature work starts.
  4. Feature sprintsFeatures arrive in fortnightly increments on a staging site you can click through, with notes on what changed.
  5. Hardening and testingLoad checks, security review, browser and device testing, and a full pass of the acceptance list.
  6. Release and support windowProduction launch with monitoring, then an agreed period where we fix issues quickly while your team gets used to the system.

Choosing the right hosting model

Blazor is not one thing. The mode you pick changes performance, hosting and offline behaviour.

Model
How it runs
Good fit
Watch for
Blazor Server
UI logic runs on the server, updates travel over a live connection
Internal tools on good networks, fast first load
Needs a steady connection and server capacity per active user
Blazor WebAssembly
.NET runs inside the browser
Offline-capable apps, heavy client logic
Larger first download, slower start on weak phones
Interactive Auto
Starts on the server, moves to the browser when ready
Apps that need quick first paint and rich interactivity
More moving parts to test and host
Static server rendering
Pages rendered on the server as plain HTML
Content pages, forms with light interactivity
Not for screens that need constant live updates

Technology we pair with Blazor

The framework is only part of a working product.

ASP.NET Core and Web API

The backbone for services, authentication and integrations. See our wider ASP.NET development services.

SQL Server and EF Core

Reliable relational storage with migrations, indexing and reporting views planned from the start.

Azure or on-premise

Cloud hosting where it suits, local servers where policy requires them. Our Azure and ASP.NET cloud solutions cover the cloud side.

Component suites

MudBlazor, Radzen or commercial suites such as Telerik and Syncfusion, chosen by licence terms and the grids you need.

Git and CI pipelines

Version control, automated builds and test runs on every change, using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.

Cost and timeline drivers

We quote after a scoping call because the same word, dashboard, can mean three screens or thirty.

The factors that move a Blazor project most are the number of distinct screens and workflows, the complexity of business rules, how many outside systems must be connected, how many user roles exist, and whether the app must work offline or on weak connections.

Existing assets change the picture.

A usable database, documented rules and a brand style guide shorten discovery. Poor data, undocumented logic or a legacy system we must reverse-engineer lengthen it.

We prefer a fixed-scope first phase followed by a time-and-materials or monthly retainer, so you are not locked into guesses.

To compare options, see our software development services approach to quoting or ask for a tailored estimate through the contact page.

Time zones help.

We work from Gulberg III in Lahore with working hours that overlap with the UK, UAE and the US mornings, and international clients are invoiced in USD.

Projects better served by another stack

Blazor is a poor match for public websites where organic search is the main source of customers, especially if the content is mostly static. A server-rendered or CMS-driven site will be cheaper and easier to rank.

In that case look at our website development company services instead.

It is also a weaker choice if your team is all JavaScript developers with no interest in C#, or if you need a huge third-party widget ecosystem that only exists for React or Angular.

Our honest comparison in Blazor: should you use it for your next project covers these trade-offs.

For a native mobile app, React Native app development is usually the better route.

If you have an older Web Forms application, a staged migration is often safer than a rewrite.

See ASP.NET Web Forms modernization for how we plan that.

Proof by method: how we show the app is working

We do not claim results we cannot measure, so each release is checked against the acceptance list you approved.

You see test run summaries, the issues found and fixed, and response times for the key screens measured on the hosting you will actually use.

After launch we set up application logging and error tracking with tools such as Application Insights, so slow pages, failed sign-ins and exceptions are visible by name instead of arriving as vague complaints.

Where Blazor sits behind a business we also tie usage back to outcomes, for example forms completed, approvals cleared or orders processed, which gives you a clearer view than page views.

Our broader enterprise web portal development work follows the same discipline.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you get in touch.

Is Blazor ready for production business applications?

Yes. It is part of ASP.NET Core and supported by Microsoft, and it is widely used for internal tools, portals and dashboards. Check the current .NET support schedule when choosing a version, and plan upgrades like any other dependency.

Do I need JavaScript knowledge on my team?

Not for most screens. Some browser features, such as maps, certain charts or file drag and drop, still use JavaScript through interop. We write and document those small pieces so your team does not have to.

Blazor Server or WebAssembly: which should I pick?

Server suits internal tools on reliable networks. WebAssembly suits apps that need offline work or heavy client processing. Current .NET also offers mixed modes. We recommend after learning your users, devices and hosting limits. Our Blazor decision guide helps you prepare.

Can you add Blazor pages to an existing ASP.NET application?

Often yes. Blazor components can live inside an existing ASP.NET Core app, and in some cases they can be hosted alongside older pages. This lets you modernize one module at a time instead of stopping the business for a rewrite.

Will the app work well on mobile phones?

A responsive layout works on phones, and we test on common Android and iPhone browsers. For features such as push notifications or camera-heavy workflows, a dedicated app may suit better. See our app development services.

Who owns the code when the project ends?

You do. Source code, documentation and deployment scripts are handed over under the terms of the agreement, and we can sign an NDA before any discussion of your systems.
