Market snapshot
How buyers search

Buyers search in English and Arabic, ask for recommendations, and often prefer a call or WhatsApp to a form.

Best first channel

Website and Google Business Profile first, then SEO and Google Ads for services people search by city.

Rules to know

Oman has local-content and Omanisation expectations in some sectors, plus data and advertising rules; confirm with an adviser.

What to measure

Calls and WhatsApp enquiries, quote requests, bookings for tourism, and visits to branches.

Time zone

Oman is UTC+4, one hour behind Lahore all year. The working week is Sunday to Thursday.

An Omani market that runs on relationships, with search behind it

Oman is a quieter, more relationship-led market than some of its Gulf neighbours. A buyer in Muscat may ask a colleague, check Google, look at a company's Instagram and then pick up the phone.

Read the full explanation

That means the website has to answer the first level of trust questions quickly: who you are, where you work, who has hired you, and how to reach a person.

Many companies there are small and medium businesses with an owner who still answers the phone, alongside larger firms tied to energy, logistics, construction and government-linked programmes under Oman Vision 2040. Our work for each group differs. The owner-led shop needs a clean site, a Google profile and local search. The larger supplier needs capability pages, tender-ready documents online and a system that tracks enquiries.

We do not promise a ranking or a particular number of leads. We build the pieces that make you easier to find and easier to trust, and we measure what comes in.

Regions and the sectors we plan around

A national site rarely works on its own in Oman. Location pages and local profiles do much of the work.

Muscat: Ruwi, Al Khuwair, Qurum and Mutrah

The capital area holds head offices, trading houses, professional services, clinics and the Mutrah port and souq. Local search, B2B pages and hospitality listings carry most of the demand.

Seeb, Bawshar and Al Mouj

Residential growth, retail and property. Agents, schools, clinics and homeware brands need pages by neighbourhood and strong mobile design.

Sohar

A port and industrial city. Logistics, manufacturing suppliers and engineering contractors need capability pages and export-ready English content.

Salalah

Known for the Khareef season, a free zone and a port. Hotels and tour operators peak in the monsoon months, so campaigns and content follow that calendar.

Duqm

A special economic zone with port, industrial and tourism plans. Supplier directories and investor-facing sites matter here more than consumer ads.

Nizwa, Sur and the interior

Heritage, adventure and craft tourism. Small operators gain from bookable tour pages, reviews and photography.

Google Business Profile, maps and the first screen of trust

For tourism, clinics, restaurants and trades in Muscat and Salalah, the map result often decides the visit before the website loads.

We clean up the business name, categories, opening hours for the Sunday-to-Thursday week and Friday service, photos and the questions customers ask.

Reviews in Arabic and English both count, and we write a short reply guide so your staff answer consistently.
Accuracy is the dull part that wins.

A wrong pin near Qurum or a missing phone number in Seeb costs real visits, and it takes an hour to fix. We audit profiles first, because that work needs no ad budget at all.

Tender-style buying and how we fit its rhythm

Larger Omani buyers often ask for a company profile, references and a written proposal before a decision. Our process is built to produce documents you can pass along.

  1. Scope documentA written summary of pages, features, languages, integrations and what counts as done. This is the paper your procurement team can review.
  2. Fixed milestonesDesign sign-off, build, content load, testing, launch. Each has a date and a named approver on your side.
  3. Staging reviewYou test the site or tool on a staging link before it goes live, in Arabic and in English.
  4. Handover packSource access, admin accounts, analytics ownership and a short training session.
  5. Support windowA defined period for fixes after launch, followed by a monthly retainer if you want continued SEO or ads.

Language, content and local-content expectations

Websites for Oman usually need Arabic and English, and the Arabic should read as Omani business writing, not a literal translation.

We do not employ Arabic speakers as a claim of local ownership; Arabic copy is reviewed by a native reviewer before launch.

Right-to-left layout, Arabic typography and mixed-direction text in tables and forms are part of the build.

Some sectors, especially energy and large projects, ask suppliers about local content, sometimes called in-country value, and Omanisation of staff. We do not advise on these requirements.

If your bid or brand story mentions them, your adviser should confirm the wording, and we will publish it as approved.

Public holidays follow the Islamic calendar for Eid and fixed dates for National Day in November, which affect tourism pushes and office hours. We plan campaign dates around them.

Questions for any remote team before you sign

These questions hold for us and for anyone else you consider.

  • Who writes and who reviews Arabic?Ask for the name or role. A reviewer should be a native writer in the sector.
  • Who owns the domain and the ad accounts? They should be in your name from day one.
  • How are changes after launch priced?Ask for the basis, such as hours or milestones, not just a promise.
  • What access do you need to my systems?Minimum access, removable, and logged.
  • What happens if a milestone slips?Look for an honest answer, a revised date and a reason.
  • Can we speak by phone during your day and mine?Oman and Lahore are one hour apart, so overlap is easy, but agree times.

Time and working method

Oman uses UTC+4 and Pakistan UTC+5, with no clock changes in either country, so Lahore is one hour ahead all year.

Oman works Sunday to Thursday and we work Monday to Friday.

We schedule calls inside the shared days and send a written update after each.

We do not have an office in Oman and do not visit unless we arrange it with you.

If you also sell into other Gulf markets, read about our work in the UAE and Qatar, or start with the country hub. To discuss a project, use the contact page.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you get in touch.

Can a small guesthouse near Nizwa or a Salalah tour operator afford a proper website?

We scope small projects honestly: a clean bilingual site, booking or enquiry form, a Google profile and photos. Cost depends on pages, languages and booking features, and we say what is not needed.

Do you work with government-linked or semi-government buyers in Oman?

Projects are scoped individually. If a procurement process requires a locally registered supplier or specific certificates, tell us in the first call so we can say plainly whether we fit.

Should our Muscat company start with SEO or Google Ads?

If you have a site with decent content, start with local search and a Google profile. If you need enquiries quickly or have a launch date, run Google Ads in parallel and fix the site.

How do you handle the Khareef season for a Salalah hotel?

We plan content, offers and ad dates ahead of the season, build room and package pages, and monitor enquiry sources so the budget moves with demand.

Can you build an ERP or inventory system for a trading firm in Sohar?

Yes, after a scoping workshop. Custom ERP development depends on modules, integrations and users, and we may recommend an existing product over a custom build.

Do you provide Arabic content writing?

We coordinate Arabic copy with a native reviewer. For sensitive or regulated content, your own approver should also sign off the final text.

How do we pay and sign?

We invoice in US dollars, agree scope and ownership in writing, and use bank transfer or other options agreed with you. Confirm any tax treatment with your adviser.
