Why is my Meta Ads account getting rejected? Find the reason, then fix it in order

Meta rejects or restricts ad accounts mainly because of policy breaches in ads or landing pages, unverified business details, payment problems, or account security flags. Open Account Quality, read the exact reason, fix that cause and then request a review. Repeated appeals without changes rarely help.

Key takeaways
  • Start with Account Quality in Meta Business Suite to see the stated reason.
  • Most rejections trace to ad content, landing pages, payment or identity issues.
  • Fix first, appeal once, and explain what you changed.
  • Build a clean, verified setup before you spend, because new accounts are checked closely.

Read the message before you do anything

When an ad is rejected or an account is restricted, Meta shows a notice and usually a reason. Many advertisers skim it, panic and open a new account, which makes the problem worse. A second account created from the same person, device or payment method can be linked to the first and flagged too. Read the notice, copy it, and note which ad, page or setting it points to.

The details matter because the cure is different for each cause. An ad rejection is about one piece of content. A restricted ad account is about the account as a whole. A disabled personal profile, which can pull your Business Manager access down with it, is a third and separate problem. Keep a record of dates and screenshots as you go, since you may need them later.

Common causes and what to do

Match the notice you received to the likely fix.

A fix sequence that works in practice

Go in this order and keep notes at each stage.

  1. Open Account QualityIn Meta Business Suite, check the status of your account, pages and ads. It lists violations and available actions.
  2. Review the ad against the policiesCompare your wording and images with the current Advertising Standards. Policy details change, so check the live pages rather than relying on memory.
  3. Check your landing pageMeta reviews the destination too. Missing contact details, a broken page, an unclear business identity or misleading claims can cause rejection.
  4. Verify your business and domainComplete business verification and confirm your domain where the platform asks. Match names and details exactly with your registered documents.
  5. Secure accessTurn on two-factor authentication, remove admins you do not recognise, and give access to people through Business Manager rather than sharing logins.
  6. Request a review, onceSubmit the appeal with a short factual note on what you changed. Wait for the answer before sending another.

Content that triggers trouble

Health, finance, weight loss, cosmetic work and dating products receive closer review than most categories. In practice, that means avoiding any claim that implies a medical result, any before and after imagery that suggests a promise, and any wording that says 'you' about a condition or personal situation. Compare 'Are you struggling with low income?' with 'Free session on managing household budgets'. The second is much safer.

Clinics, supplement sellers and training providers should write ads that describe the service and how to book it. We cover related thinking in our guide to lookalike audiences, and the same caution applies when choosing which customer data you upload. See also why Google Ads accounts get disapproved for a comparison. Always verify the current policy before launch, because rules differ by country and change over time.

Account hygiene that prevents rejections

Most clean accounts follow the same habits.

  • Use a real, matching identityBusiness name, page name, website and payment details should agree with each other.
  • Run ads from a Business ManagerDo not boost endlessly from a personal profile, which has weaker protection and recovery.
  • Warm up new accountsBegin with modest spend and ordinary products before large budgets.
  • Keep landing pages completeInclude a visible business name, address or contact route, and a clear privacy policy.
  • Avoid editing live ads repeatedlyMany changes in a row can trigger fresh reviews.
  • Never buy or share accountsRented and second-hand accounts are a common cause of sudden bans.

Payments and shared logins in Pakistan

Advertisers in Pakistan frequently hit two problems. The first is payments: international cards, local bank limits and currency differences can cause failed charges, which lead to paused delivery. Keep a backup method and check that the billing country and currency are consistent. The second is account security. Shared logins among agency staff and freelancers are a common reason profiles are flagged. Use roles in Business Manager so each person has their own access.

For clients who sell abroad from Pakistan, make sure the page shows who the business is, where it operates and how to contact it. Opaque stores with no address, no policy pages and a mismatch between ad country and website country attract review. We build and manage these setups under our Meta Ads management work, and can audit an existing account on request.

Preparing an ad account before the first rupee is spent

The calm way to avoid rejections is preparation. Create the Business Manager with your real company name, add the page and the ad account, verify the business, and connect your domain before you build a single campaign. Then add a payment method that belongs to the business and keep one backup method on file. Accounts that start with a large budget on day one, a mismatched name or a fresh unfamiliar login look suspicious to automated systems.

Build your first campaign with a small spend and an uncontroversial offer, let it deliver and receive clean approvals, and only then scale. If you are an agency or freelancer managing other people's accounts, ask clients to add you as a partner or give task-based access instead of handing over passwords. It protects them and it protects you.

Which kind of restriction do you have?

Different notices need different responses.

Single ad rejected

Edit or replace that ad. The account itself is fine, so there is no need for an appeal about the account.

Page restricted

Review recent posts and ads on that page. Fix the content and request a review from Account Quality.

Ad account disabled

Appeal using the form in the notice, add facts about your business, and check payment and security history.

Personal profile disabled

This is a separate process from ads. Recovery depends on identity checks, so use the official steps only.

What not to do after a rejection

These actions usually deepen the problem.

  • Creating a new account straight awayEvasion is itself a violation and can lead to permanent action.
  • Submitting the same appeal repeatedlyEach identical request tells reviewers nothing new.
  • Hiring someone who promises a guaranteed unbanNo outsider controls Meta's decisions. Be careful of anyone who says otherwise.
  • Hiding the offer behind a cloaked pageShowing reviewers a different page from users is a serious breach.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you get in touch.

How long does a Meta ads appeal take?

It can range from a short period to several days, and sometimes longer for restricted business accounts. Timelines are not guaranteed, so avoid planning a launch that depends on a fast answer.

Why do my ads keep getting rejected after I edit them?

The edit may not have addressed the actual reason, or the landing page may still break a policy. Check Account Quality for the specific notice and test the destination as a reviewer would.

Can I run Meta ads without a Facebook page?

Ads generally need a connected page or identity to run, and a complete, active page helps trust. Set up the page properly first. Our lesson on setting up a Facebook business page covers it.

Will fixing tracking help with account problems?

Not directly, but a clean setup with the pixel and a verified domain is part of a healthy account. See the Meta pixel setup guide.

Can you help me recover or restructure my account?

We can audit your ads, landing pages and setup and tell you what to fix, but we cannot promise Meta's decision. Contact us with the notice you received.

Is it safe to pay someone to recover an account?

Treat these offers with great caution. Only Meta decides, and many sellers of recovery services are scams that ask for logins or payment up front. Use the official appeal process and professional help that audits your content rather than promises a result.
