Adobe Commerce development for stores that have outgrown the basics

We provide Adobe Commerce development for merchants on the licensed edition of Magento, including customisation, B2B features, integrations, deployment and upgrades. It suits mid-size and large catalogs that need vendor-backed tooling and a team that understands where the licensed edition differs from Open Source.

Edition fit and the licence question

Adobe Commerce is the commercial edition of the Magento platform. It shares its core with Magento Open Source and adds licensed capabilities, vendor support and, depending on the plan, hosted infrastructure.

The practical question is never whether Adobe Commerce is better in general. It is whether your business uses the extra capabilities enough to justify the licence and the stricter operating model that comes with it.

Features commonly cited as reasons to choose the licensed edition include B2B functionality such as company accounts, shared catalogs and quotes, content staging and preview, customer segmentation, and integrations with the wider Adobe ecosystem. Adobe changes packaging and naming over time, so we check the current edition comparison with you before recommending anything, and we do not rely on memory for what is included.

Our role is that of an implementation partner for the engineering work. We build, customise, integrate and maintain. We do not resell the licence and we do not pretend to be Adobe, so on matters of licence terms, entitlements and support cases you will deal with Adobe directly while we prepare the technical evidence.

Open Source or Adobe Commerce

A short guide to the decision. We confirm specifics against Adobe's current documentation before you commit.

Engagement path

We work in stages so that expensive decisions about edition and architecture come before code.

  1. AssessmentWe review your catalog, order volume, markets, existing systems and team. If you already run Magento, we audit code and extensions to see what carries over.
  2. Solution designYou receive an architecture document covering edition fit, environments, integrations, data flows and a phased delivery plan.
  3. Phased buildDevelopment proceeds in sprints with demos on staging. Higher-risk items, such as integrations and checkout changes, come first.
  4. Hardening and testingPerformance testing, security checks, regression runs and user acceptance testing with your staff before the release candidate.
  5. Launch and handoverA planned release window, monitoring, documentation and training for administrators, followed by an agreed support period.

Adobe Commerce budget and timeline factors

Licence cost depends on Adobe's current terms and your size and plan, so we will not quote it and you should confirm it with Adobe.

Our own fees depend on the number of integrations, the scale of B2B features, custom modules, data volume, the number of storefronts and the testing demanded by your business.

Timeline follows the same drivers, and large catalogs with several systems to connect are planned in phases.
A common mistake is to buy the licensed edition and then build only a standard store on it.

If that is where you are headed, we will say so before you sign. Equally, we will tell you if you would be better off on Open Source today with a plan to move later.

Reasons to hold back

Adobe Commerce is not the right call in these cases.

Small catalog, simple needs

The licence and the process around it outweigh the benefit. Consider Open Source Magento or a simpler platform. Our Magento vs Shopify comparison helps.

No budget for upkeep

Licensed or not, the platform needs patching and monitoring. Plan for maintenance and support from the start.

Features you will not use

If staging, segmentation and B2B tools are not on your roadmap, you pay for capacity you leave idle.

Delivery for regional and international merchants

Adobe Commerce clients we work with tend to be established merchants and wholesalers, many of them outside Pakistan.

We have served clients in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Europe, so we are used to working inside another company's change-control process, security questionnaires and release calendars.

You get a project lead who writes things down, and developers who can join your stand-ups when that helps.

For Pakistani merchants moving to the licensed edition, such as exporters or distributors with dealer networks, the typical needs are dealer-specific price lists, credit-limit logic, order approval by sales managers and links to local accounting software.

These are exactly the cases where the licensed B2B tools may or may not fit, and we test the fit in a small prototype before you commit to the larger build.

Time zones are manageable.

We overlap with UAE and UK business hours and schedule US calls in our evening. Work is invoiced in USD for international clients.

Integration points we plan early

Most Adobe Commerce delays come from systems around the store, not the store itself.

  • ERP and inventoryWhich system owns stock, prices and customer credit, and how often data is exchanged.
  • PIM or product feed sourceWhere product content is authored and how images, attributes and translations arrive.
  • Payments and taxGateway choices, tax calculation sources and reconciliation with accounting.
  • Shipping and fulfilmentWarehouse or courier connections, label creation and tracking updates sent to customers.
  • Search and merchandisingSearch engine setup and rules for ranking products, tied to your catalog structure.
  • Analytics and marketingGA4, ad pixels and email platforms receiving consistent order data.

Upgrade discipline on a licensed platform

Running a licensed edition does not remove the need for routine updates.

Each Adobe Commerce release changes dependencies, and extensions may lag behind.

We maintain a staging environment that mirrors production, run regression checks on checkout, B2B flows and integrations, and release in an agreed window with a rollback plan.

Where the store has custom modules, we review them against each new version before the upgrade is scheduled.

Measuring delivery quality

We report in plain terms: what was built each sprint, what was tested, defects found and fixed, and open risks.

Technical measures include page speed on key templates, checkout completion in test and live environments, error rate in logs, and indexing and cron health.

Commercial measures come from your GA4 and order data, which we help wire up so you can judge the platform on trading outcomes, not on our say-so.

Working from Lahore, we cover the UAE and UK working day and overlap with US mornings.

Payments are in USD for international clients, and our certified Google Ads and Analytics background means the build supports acquisition tracking, including the work offered under Magento SEO services.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you get in touch.

Is Adobe Commerce the same as Magento?

They share the same platform core. Magento Open Source is the free community edition, and Adobe Commerce is the licensed commercial edition with additional features and vendor support. Naming and packaging change over time, so check Adobe's current documentation.

Do you sell Adobe Commerce licences?

No. Licences are bought from Adobe or its authorised sellers. We provide the development, integration and maintenance work, and we can help you prepare questions for Adobe before you buy.

Can you move us from Open Source to Adobe Commerce?

Yes, this is a common path. It involves checking extension compatibility, adapting deployment, and testing upgrades carefully. Our Magento migration services team handles edition and platform moves.

Can you work on Adobe Commerce cloud environments?

We work with cloud deployment configuration and standard release flows, subject to the access you provide. Specific capabilities depend on the plan you hold, so we confirm them at the assessment stage.

Do you build B2B portals on Adobe Commerce?

Yes. We plan company accounts, shared catalogs, pricing agreements and ordering workflows, and connect them to your ERP. Read the related post on Magento B2B features wholesalers need.

How do I start?

Send us a short description of your catalog, markets and systems through the contact page, and we will arrange an assessment call.
