Careful, documented development for Japan, delivered from a team that writes everything down

Japanese companies that outsource to Pakistan usually care less about price and more about whether the work arrives complete, documented and without surprises. We build software, websites and online stores, and run SEO and paid search, from Lahore, with written specifications and test records. Projects for businesses in Japan are scoped individually.

  • Written specs, test sheets and change logs on every build
  • Pakistan is four hours behind Japan, with no daylight saving
  • Honest about the language gap before the contract is signed

Quality as something you can inspect

Many Japanese teams judge an outsourcing partner by the paperwork before they judge the code. A requirements document that names every screen, a test sheet showing what was checked and a log of every change since the last version are normal expectations, not extras.

Read the full explanation

We work this way by default on software development projects, because it also protects us from vague scope.

The approval path inside a Japanese company is often a circulation process, sometimes called “ringi”, where several departments read and stamp a proposal before work starts. We allow for it. Our proposals are structured so a reader who was not on the call can still follow the reasoning, and we avoid last-minute scope changes that force a second round of approval.

We also keep promises small. If a delivery date moves, you hear about it as soon as we know, with the cause and the new date, instead of a polite silence.

An acceptance rhythm for custom builds

This is the cycle we propose for web applications, internal systems and ERP or CRM work. We adjust it to your own development standards when you have them.

  1. Requirements documentA numbered specification with screens, fields, permissions and edge cases. A glossary fixes the meaning of each term in English and in Japanese.
  2. Prototype reviewClickable wireframes are checked before any code is written, so misunderstandings surface while they are cheap.
  3. Sprint demonstrationA recorded walkthrough and a test sheet at the end of each short cycle. Defects are logged with screenshots.
  4. Acceptance testingYour team tests against the numbered requirements. We fix, retest and mark each item closed in writing.
  5. Handover and fix windowSource code, documentation, deployment notes and an agreed period for correcting defects found after release.

Software that Japanese teams ask us to build

Requests tend to be practical.

A wholesaler in Osaka wants an ordering portal that replaces fax and email attachments. A manufacturer near Nagoya wants a quotation tool tied to its parts catalogue.

A Tokyo startup wants extra developers for a mobile app for a fixed period without a long hiring process.

We cover Laravel, ASP.NET, WordPress and mobile work, and the same team can maintain the result.

We are not the right choice for projects that require staff on your premises each day, strict government security clearances or Japanese-only team communication. We would rather tell you that on the first call than discover it in month three.

Search and shopping habits we plan around

Google and Yahoo! JAPAN

Both are heavily used, and Yahoo! JAPAN runs its own advertising system. We plan search content to suit both. Whether we can operate a Yahoo! JAPAN ads account depends on its current account requirements, so we confirm that before promising it.

LINE as a customer channel

Many companies keep customers through a LINE Official Account for notices and bookings. We can connect sign-up links, tracking and web forms to it. Message wording stays with your staff or an approved Japanese writer.

Rakuten Ichiba and Amazon.co.jp

Product shoppers compare on marketplaces before visiting a brand site. A good plan covers listing quality, reviews and a direct store for repeat orders. See e-commerce marketing.

Mobile, reviews and trust

Japanese shoppers read detail: specifications, shipping, return terms and company information. Thin pages hurt both rankings and orders.

Details that Japanese users and regulators notice

We are not a law firm. Use this as a kickoff checklist for your own counsel or accountant.

  • Commercial transactions noticeOnline sellers normally publish a seller notice page based on the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions. Your adviser confirms the content.
  • Privacy policy under APPIForms, cookies and analytics need a policy that matches what is actually collected. Review the current Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
  • Invoice formatIf you issue invoices to Japanese customers, the qualified invoice system affects layout. We follow the format your accountant gives us.
  • Text and fontsUTF-8 everywhere, careful line breaks, correct font fallbacks, and form fields that follow Japanese name and address order.
  • Tone of copyPoliteness levels vary by audience. Machine translation is not acceptable for customer-facing text. A Japanese reviewer should approve it.
  • Browser and device testingTest on the mobile devices and browsers your customers use, including in-app browsers inside LINE and Instagram.

The calendar, the clock and the language gap

Japan is four hours ahead of Pakistan, all year.

Your working afternoon from 13:00 to 18:00 falls at 09:00 to 14:00 in Lahore, which is the strongest overlap, so we plan weekly calls there.

A nine o'clock Japanese morning meeting would be five in the morning in Lahore, so we avoid it.

Golden Week, Obon and the New Year shutdown stop approvals for days, and the April start of many companies’ fiscal year releases new budgets. We plan launches before those pauses rather than inside them.

Pakistan has its own closures, such as Eid holidays, and we publish our calendar early.
Our working language is English.

We do not employ Japanese-speaking staff, so a bilingual coordinator on your side, or a translator we engage together with you, is usually part of a smooth project.

We do not have a Japanese entity, we do not visit sites unless arranged, and invoices are issued in US dollars.

If these terms fit, read the full outsourcing guide and contact us through the contact page.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you get in touch.

Can you work with specifications written in Japanese?

We can work from them when a bilingual coordinator or translator is part of the project, because our team works in English. We prefer a bilingual glossary agreed at the start so terms do not drift.

Is a team without Japanese speakers suitable for a Japanese website?

It is suitable for the build, the technical SEO and the tracking. It is not suitable for writing customer-facing Japanese text. That copy should come from, or be approved by, a native writer.

How do you handle quality assurance and bug reports?

Every release comes with a test sheet and a list of known issues. Defects are logged with screenshots and steps to reproduce, then retested and closed in writing. The fix window after launch is agreed in the contract.

Can you build for Rakuten or connect to LINE?

We can build integrations and landing flows around APIs and tools those platforms provide, subject to their current terms. We confirm what is available for your account type at scoping.

What are the working hours for calls?

Japanese afternoons line up with Pakistani mornings. Early Japanese mornings would fall in the middle of the night here, so we agree on afternoon windows.

Do you do SEO for Japanese-language searches?

We handle keyword research, site structure, technical fixes and tracking, and a native reviewer checks the language before publishing. The SEO fundamentals are described on our SEO agency page.

Is Japan or another Asian market a better first test for your team?

If speed matters more than formality, Malaysia or Singapore are easier starts because English is widely used in business. Japan rewards patience and documentation.
